You looked to your right and saw Kato smiling down at you dressed nicely with his hair styled. He was holding a briefcase and some papers with coffee in the other hand, he looked like he was struggling.
"Let me help you", he refused but you grabbed some of the papers and his coffee. He blushed smiling nervously at you, "you didn't have to".
"You're my boss of course I do", the elevator opened and he let you go in first, you were both heading to the same floor so you didn't have to wait for him to leave first. "Sorry I was late I"—
"Don't worry about it, I never got to show you where everything was anyways. It's my fault", you chuckled nervously and mumbled 'right' knowing full well that wasn't the reason for your lateness. "Even though I'm your boss you don't have to treat me like one, we are still friends don't be so uptight with me".
"So does that mean I don't have to call you Mr Haru", he chuckled his white straight teeth sparkling. "Only if you let me still call you by your first name".
"Deal", he smiled at you before patting you on the head. You scrunched your face and looked at him causing him to laugh at your behaviour, "you're cute". Your eyes widened and you bit your bottom lip looking forward not knowing how to reply to that. He realised what he had just said and his face turned red.
"Sorry...I bet that was weird".
"Don't worry about it, you're cute too". He scratched the back of his neck and cleared his throat, the ride up was silent you didn't say anything to each other after that. Things got awkward after what was said and you were both too shy to say anything else.
Your shoulders dropped in relief when the lift made a 'ding' sound, the doors opened and you let him go first leading the way. People were walking to where they were supposed to be and greeted Kato, he happily greeted them back which was so weird to you because Daisuke never did that.
People wouldn't even look in his direction scared to even greet him, he was so intimidating and scary that people knew not to cross the line. Haru's organisation was the complete opposite.
Everyone was smiling and greeting each other, the energy was lively and they seemed to really enjoy what they did. "Just put my things on the desk".
