Her eyes went cold. I've never seen Y/n like this. She looked stunned, but very angry at the same time. There are no words to express how she looked, but it made sense. Her father was standing right before her; the father that abandoned his child was standing right before her.

He was intelligent, which meant any wrong move and he'd probably find out our identities.

"Why so quiet?" he asked. He looked almost exactly like his daughter. It's a good thing we wear masks.

"What are you doing here, Vex," Ray questioned.

"Normally, I wouldn't answer your question, but this is different," Dr. Vex replied. It was almost as if his voice went soft, "I'm looking for my daughter."

Wow. It looked like Y/n's breathing just got heavy. That poor girl; this must be very difficult for her.

"Your daughter?" I asked.

"Yes. I don't know what she looks like now," ouch, "But I know she's got powers. Have you seen anyone with powers?"

Of course I have! She's standing right next to me, but I can't say that.

"No," I began, "Not other than Captain Man and his indestructibility."

Dr. Vex glared at me.

"Well then, what about this girl? What about Mind Strike? What does she do." Great, he was onto us.

"I don't have any powers," Y/n denied, her voice shaky.

"I suppose my daughter is nowhere nearby. Whatever; it's not like I ever cared for her."

Y/n fell to the ground. I could hear her sniffle. She let out a heavy breath and, just then, a lemonade stand came flying in. It hit Dr. Vex right in the head. Oh no, Y/n lost control.

"I knew it!" Dr. Vex yelled as he got up. Great. He slowly walked up to Y/n. I ran right in front of her shaking body, making sure Dr. Vex couldn't land a finger on her.

"Get out of my way, Kid Danger."

"No! You hurt your daughter once; I won't let you do it again!"

"You really think I'm here to hurt my daughter?!"

"Hey, Kid Danger," a voice called. It was Y/n. She had gotten up. She placed her hand on my shoulder and whispered, "It's okay."

I nodded my head slightly and moved out of the way.

Your POV

I didn't know what to feel, but I had to face him. I need to know why my father left me. I know he just said that he doesn't care to see if he could trigger my powers, and it worked.

"What do you want?" I asked firmly.

"Could we speak in private?" My fathe-Dr. Vex questioned.

"No way," Captain Man said abruptly.

"I can handle myself, Captain Man."

"Dr. Vex is dangerous," he defended.

"And so am I," I replied.

Captain Man and Kid Danger looked hesitant, but they let me go. Dr. Vex and I walked away and stood behind a large bush.

"I'm sorry," he said. My veins filled with confusion. He left me; now he's sorry?

"I don't understand."

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for abandoning you at such a young age. I'm so sorry for never coming back for you. I'm so so so sorry."
