"It's you!" Seonghwa mercilessly punched Jungkook while crying as the elder one took it with no complaints. He knew he was at fault for Y/n lying on the hospital bed fighting between life and death.
"It's fucking you! You got her where she is! If you would've kept that plan in your head and not executed it I'd still have her!!" Seonghwa got off Jungkook and covered his face, wailing like no tomorrow existed. Also, why wouldn't he cry when his friend was in critical condition?
When he had gone to her apartment to apologize and rang the bell, no one opened it. He desperately tried to call her, waiting for her to pick up but only getting disappointed when it straight went to the voice-mail.
He was getting worried-sick by each passing minutes. Y/n never usually takes more than ten minutes to open the door and it was already fifteen minutes. Hence. after being fed up with waiting, he broke the door and barged in to found Y/n lying there with her hand covered in the blood. And that's how they landed at the hospital with her having a war between death and life.
Jungkook reached there later soon, when Seonghwa had called him crying like a baby. He had come with an intuition that he'd confront Seonghwa, instead, he got several punches from the younger one.
"Why'd you do it, Hyung?! Why?!" Seonghwa faced the wall sobbing, and Jungkook was staggered. This was the first time when Seonghwa genuinely called him 'Hyung'. Not being able to resist himself, Jungkook took Seonghwa in his embrace, patting his back and urging him to be calm. His lower lip was busted due to Seonghwa's blows, but he couldn't care less. Not at least when Seonghwa had given him such an important place in his heart.
"She will be alright, Seonghwa. She can't leave us like that."
"Why'd you do it? She hates her brother, Hyung! She hates that Jiyong. Jiyong killed her mother!" Seonghwa spat out the secretes, making Jungkook pull back with a horrified face. He was motionless when those words entered his ears.
"J- Jiyong what?" He asked with his broken voice.
Seonghwa sniffed, "yes. Jiyong killed Y/n's mother. He accidentally shot her when he was angry. That's why Y/n hates Jiyong. Jiyong is just an ass, nothing else, Jungkook. Nothing else!"
Jungkook's breathing stopped for a second. He was literally in a delusion of them being close brother and sister, hence, he had decided to hurt her to eventually make Jiyong see his sister miserable. But now that he knew they were not even that connected he just felt guilty and despondent for taking revenge on her which wasn't necessary.
Jungkook looked around while trying to calm his breath, he was such a dumbass. If only he had once tried to figure out the true relation they had, Y/n wouldn't be in the condition she is in today. Not only had he lost the respect he had for himself but also, was going to lose Y/n.
"S- Seonghwa, I... I.... Oh god!" he clutched his head and sat down on the chair, bawling his eyes out. He couldn't put belief into how stupid he had been all this while. He had lost Anna, and even Y/n was about drift away.
"Jungkook? D- do you really love Y/n?"
"Seonghwa she will hate me now! I- I made her suffer for nothing! She is in that state coz of me! I deserve to die, Seonghwa! Die!" Jungkook wept loud enough to attract every single one's attention, however that's not what mattered to him right now. Y/n was more crucial.
"No, Jungkook. I must've said everything in the heat of the moment, yet, trust me. All those months, whenever I have seen you staring at her, I only saw love in your eyes."
"what?" Jungkook sniffled at looked at Seonghwa who was now smiling sadly.
"Hyung, you mustn't have realized that you're in love with her but you are. Not since that day, but since very first, Y/n was different to you, wasn't she?" Seonghwa questioned and slowly the realizations were getting poured on Jungkook's head.
That first day when she fell in his arms till today, Y/n was unlike the others. Whenever he saw her, Jungkook couldn't think of anything else. It was like his revenge was non-existent. He registered that all he ever pleased was her.
The way just holding her hand would make his heart run a marathon was special to him. He remembered that every single encounter he had with her, her smile that brightened his day, the way her laugh would echo in his ears when she wasn't close, the way her nose would scrunch and the every possible aspect from which he'd seen her.
Still, no matter how true Seonghwa's words, he was in misconception that he can't love anyone who wasn't Anna. "I- I love Anna, Seonghwa."
"Where am I denying that? I am just saying you've fallen for Y/n. Anna is your first love, but Y/n is your true love." Seonghwa explained, and Jungkook seemed to contemplate.
The sentence now made more sense to him. Jungkook was slowly comprehending that Anna surely was her first love, but Y/n became successful in creating that little space in his hart for her own self. Even though, Jungkook initially had tried to find similarities between them, he just found Y/n foreign.
Every essence, every touch, every minute, and every second with Y/n were vivid. Y/n wasn't anywhere similar to Anna, but Jungkook still had begun to adore her.
"S- Seonghwa... I- I love her?" Jungkook questioned, and Seonghwa sighed.
"You take your time and realize. I told you what I felt. Also, if you find Y/n similar to Anna then don't even are to be with her. She isn't meant to be Anna's replacement. She deserves her own space in your heart and her own worth for you. Got it?" Seonghwa sternly stated, and Jungkook faced the floor.
There were several questions in his heart. Did he really love Y/n? Even though she mattered to him, was he ready to move on? Did he deserve her enough?
Jungkook was encompassed with innumerable queries, but all of them halted when the doctor rushed out and spoke only a sentence.
"We're sorry..."
