"This memorial thing is lame," Clove blew a breath at the stray piece of hair that dangled in front of her face and tickled her cheek. "Saying that probably makes me a bad person, but there was no memorial for Fox. Or for the literal children that died when it was just us fighting Trikru."

"Or for the people who helped us in Mount Weather. For Maya," Jasper added.

"Exactly. It's like, why now?" Clove asked, tapping her fingers on the metal table they were sat at. "I'll tell you why, it's because the people who died are close to the people with power."

Jasper looked her way out of the corner of his eyes.

"Really, think about it. Pike was in charge of the Farm station survivors before we found them. Bellamy loses his girlfriend. They die and suddenly it's the end of the world," She ranted. "And like, I get it. They're allowed to mourn or whatever. But what about the rest of us. What about all the other parents or boyfriend or best friends who lost somebody?"

Jasper stood up and shoved a couple items into his chunky black backpack. "I'm ditching the memorial. Gonna spread Finn's ashes at the drop ship. You can come."

Clove wondered for a moment how Jasper even had Finn's ashes and why he decided to be the one to spread him. But, she knew she didn't want to go to a memorial for people she didn't know. Clove especially didn't want to go to a memorial being held in the place Fox died. She had never stepped foot in Mount Weather and planned on keeping it that way. "Okay," The girl settled on the most simple and effective response. "Let's go."

The pair headed outside and began towards the fence. "Jasper!" Monty called out. Both of them kept walking, but when Monty called for him again, Clove turned her head to see Emilio, who she had been avoiding, following Monty closely.

"Get away from me!" Jasper turned around and exclaimed.

"Yeah guys, we appreciate the concern," Clove was interrupted by a grumble from Jasper. "But we're all good here. Carry on."

Octavia ran over to the small group. "Guys, what's wrong?"

"They aren't going to the memorial," Monty spoke first.

"It's a little late for a Mount Weather memorial, don't you think?" Jasper shot back.

The camp's alarm rung out and Octavia left to investigate, the rest of the teenagers following. When Octavia, Monty, and Emilio seemed occupied, Jasper and Clove slipped away. They didn't get very far before Monty and Emilio were on their tails again. Jasper tightly gripped the bolt cutters he undoubtedly stole and began working in an opening in the fence.

"The camp is in lockdown," Monty pointed out. "What are you doing?"

"Go to your memorial, Monty."

Monty seemed taken back and Clove chose to stay out of their issue. "Maybe I will," Monty answered.

"Maybe you should."

"Fine."

Jasper then got the metal panel detached from the fence and tossed it to the side. Jasper crouched through, followed by Clove, and then Emilio. "You can't avoid me forever, CJ."

"I'm not avoiding you," Clove shrugged and noticed that Monty had made his way through the fence as well.

"Liar."

"Whatever," Clove continued. "It's not like we have to be together all the time."

"Yes we do. It's our thing," Emilio said. "Or, it used to be anyway."

Clove sighed. "If you're worried about me, you don't need to be. I'm fine."

"I am worried. So is Pa," Emilio reached out and grabbed her which forced her to stop walking.
