The sound of gunfire raged on around Clove as the group fired at the prisoner's lone pillbox to draw out fire and give Wonkru a clear path into the valley. Clove leaned up against a rock for cover and shot at the prisoners without bothering to pick a specific target.
"Murphy, you finally got a gun," Raven called out over the gunfire. "Use it!"
"Going as fast as I can. Come on!" Murphy finally got the sonic drill ready to fire then stepped out from behind the boulders with the drill against his hips. "Say hello to my little friend!" When he fired the drill, the machine backfired. It slipped out of Murphy's hand as he flew backwards and landed on his back. "Oh, she's got a kick."
Clove paused her fire and glanced over at him. She scooted forward and dragged him to the lower part of the terrain where they would be safe from enemy far. "You okay?"
"What did you do?" Raven shouted.
"He cracked the core. It's gonna blow. We should run," Shaw advised.
Raven ignored the pilot and knelt down beside the machine. Everybody stared at it anxiously as they waited for the high-pitched warning noises to go away. Raven opened the panel and ripped out some wires. The beeping stopped immediately and Clove sighed a breath of relief. I don't run," Raven stated.
"They stopped shooting back," Echo pointed out.
As Clove helped Murphy to his feet, Shaw pulled out the monocular and scanned the area. "No movement in the pillboxes."
Raven shook her head. "No reinforcements yet either."
"Where the hell is everyone, then?"
Echo stared off towards the valley's gorge. "Something's wrong," She spoke before turning back to the group. "We need to get back to the cave to radio Bellamy."
Everybody nodded and retreated into the woods. Once they were back in the cave, Echo headed straight for the radio. Clove's eyes widened when she entered the cave right behind Echo. "Uh oh," She muttered. "Kane and Diyoza are gone."
"Echo, it's Monty," Monty's voice came in through the radio.
"Trig, Monty. Put Bellamy on," Echo demanded.
"I thought you said it was safe! What the hell happened?"
Raven grabbed the speaker from Echo. "It was Diyoza. The bitch betrayed us," She spat.
"We don't know that," Shaw added
Raven raised her eyebrows. "Yeah? Then where is she?"
"With Kane. Betraying us," Clove agreed. "I should've realized it days ago. Kane hates Octavia, he never would've gone through with a plan that ended with her safely in the valley."
"Everyone be quiet," Echo took the speaker back. "Monty, where the hell is Bellamy?"
"He's missing, but there's still gunfire in the gorge. It's not over yet. Guys, if you don't figure something out fast, 300 people are gonna die out here."
" If there are 300 of you, then attack!" Echo urged. "You have the numbers."
"That's not an option. There's only a handful of people willing to go back in. They're at each other's throats. Nobody's in charge."
"Echo, if the enemy is listening..." Raven mentioned quietly.
Echo sighed. "Okay. We understand, and we'll figure something out. Radio silence until then. Is that clear?"
"Copy," Monty spoke through the radio one last time.
"What about air support, then?" Murphy suggested. "Transport ship's got missiles, right? If we can get on board, take control-"
