When Hordak had announced he was exchanging the hostages from the All Princess Ball for Queen Angella, the leader of the Rebellion, you and Catra were skeptical, thinking it was more of his anti-princess propaganda that embellished his accomplishments and wartime endeavors. This idea changed when Shadow Weaver summoned you to the Black Garnet Chamber and you saw the state of the girl you had captured a few days ago.

You had a bad feeling about the impending visit, so Catra came with you, hiding in the spot you had waited in for each other since you were children. You could feel a lot of magic from outside the door and it took everything in you to not think about that amount of power being used against you if Shadow Weaver was in a bad mood.

You entered and found the source of the magic quickly, seeing the princess of Bright Moon in red electric shackles. You watched the girl awkwardly struggle against the restraints and winced; that lightning hurts.

"Oh, (Y/N), you're here," Shadow Weaver surprised you with her cool voice, making you jump and bow your head in respect. The princess stopped struggling against the restraints and you silently thanked her. Her grunts against the magic and her pain were only adding to your anxiety about this encounter.

"What do you need Shadow Weaver," you said flatly. You didn't want to make this any longer than it had to be.

A bolt of red lightning shot your way. You tried to dodge but you were still recovering from your broken leg, earning you a burn on your left shoulder. Why did she-

"Watch your tone, child," oh. "I called you because in the event of an invasion, you need to fight. If Adora comes for her comrades, you need to make sure she doesn't escape so I can make her forget all about this little debacle"

"But Shadow Weaver, my leg is still-"

She cut you off, "You are a soldier. Soldiers in the Horde get over it. You seem to be doing fine healing it yourself anyways." For someone who can't live without magic, she really wasn't getting how hard magic is to use at first.

"Do you at least know where my runestone is? I have to draw power from somewhere and if I had it I could at least fight better."

"No one knows where your runestone is, if you even have one, you and your little glowing magic really are destined to be useless. Now get out of my chamber and bring back Catra." You follow suit, but not before snapping one of the smaller bonds on Glimmer's restraint. It wasn't much, but it would make her resistance a little less unpleasant.

You stumbled out of the chamber like you always do and found Catra. After telling her she needed to come with you, you both entered the Black Garnet Chamber. You saw her smirk at Glimmer as if she was admiring her work and you sighed in relief knowing helping her was the right thing to do. You hoped Shadow Weaver wouldn't notice too quickly. You even hoped Glimmer would be able to make it out now that you weakened the lightning but those were thoughts you couldn't focus on if you were to live another day in the Fright Zone.

It isn't long before Catra had Adora's sword in her hands and started gloating about the recent victory. That all changed when Hordak called in from his sanctum: "Congratulations on the capture, Shadow Weaver, it looks like the queen of Bright Moon is on her way for your hostage." You watched Catra's face fall as the conversation continued. Shadow Weaver got all the credit for Catra's work at the ball. She could barely contain her anger as the conversation ended.

"What was that?! That is not your hostage or your sword! I got us closer to victory than anyone else has and you get the credit?" she said indignantly.

"I must remind you that I am your superior." Shadow Weaver said with a cruel tone, "Everything you do is under my supervision, therefore everything you do is to my credit, Force Captain."
