AP chem test on may 25th, here we come (I'm going to be busier so shorter updates less often)

You had stayed there, sitting in a daze for who knows how long. It could have been fifteen minutes; it could have been an hour. Either way you need to get up and report the princesses that are infiltrating to Shadow Weaver. You hope she didn't ask for the sword back; Catra needs it.

She hadn't. Catra kept it, shoving it in her dorm instead of flaunting it, showing the entire Horde army she had beaten Shadow Weaver's odds, like she normally would.

It's at her dorm where she reconnects with you, looking like you were run over by a skiff. She doesn't have time to ask you what happened before you begin interrogating: "Where's the sword?"

"Here," Catra answers quickly, smart enough to know the reason for your question. "Are the princesses here?"

"Yes and you need to find Adora. Shadow Weaver could already have her."

This confirms the source of your urgency. Catra needs to know how hard it will be to track them: "They're trying to be stealthy, aren't they?"

You think back to the behavior of the man who was with Adora and smirk at the thought of Adora trying to be sneaky: "They sure are trying."

Catra stalks off and you go to report your sighting to Shadow Weaver for her to relay to the Force Captains. Adora's escape couldn't be too easy. From there, you head to the prison, thinking about the boy you spoke to. Your squad was assigned to handle an escape since Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogellio were already there on duty.

You are not surprised to see Bow vanished from his cell. It looks like there was a fight: the other members of your squad look nearly as beaten up as you are. This makes you breathe a sigh of relief. You won't have to fight again and the princesses are another squad's responsibility.

You patrol with your friends for the rest of the day. Everyone is to be on high alert for any suspicious activity and Hordak isn't letting anyone let any princesses or inspectors in.

After some time, you split off to find Catra, tired from all that walking and in need to heal your leg that is still broken. You grab ration bars for the two of you for the night and go to her dorm, figuring she'd have to sleep eventually after all of her Force Captain responsibilities.

She's already there, sitting on her bed and staring into space, when you hand her the brown bar.

"You eat it; I'm not hungry," she responds, eyeing the food.

You narrow your eyes, "You need it, Catra, at least eat a little bit?"

"Fine."

"Thank you," you say sweetly.

"It's not because I like you," she mumbles and you laugh.

"Of course! You would never eat your dinner because you like another person," you mock her.

"Shut up," she breathes, unsheathing her claws a little and you gladly comply. You are already hurt from your fight with Adora and you are not looking for any more injuries.

"Does she," you hesitate, "does she have it?"

"Yes," Catra says quietly. You guys had successfully returned your friend to the woman who took her away. Your fights with Adora are going to be battles with She-ra. She's never going to return to your side of the battlefield now.  "She did that to you?" Catra gestures to your injuries you had started to work on.

"We fought," is your simple reply. She doesn't press and you are thankful, even though you are pretty sure she just doesn't want to hear the details.

The two of you don't make small talk. You are trying your best to heal your shoulder from Shadow Weaver's burn and however Adora twisted it and Catra slowly nibbles at her ration bar. You wonder if Adora does the same thing after her battles with Bow and all of her new friends.  Does she even get injured or does She-ra's magic heal her?

You continue to think as you find Catra's Force Captain-grade first-aid kit, wondering what kind of magic princess-y heal-y stuff they did in Bright Moon. You take your hair out of your braids, letting it spill onto your shoulders and you wonder if any of Adora's friends were able to convince her she doesn't need her hair up and prepared for battle when she sleeps.

You apply a bandage to your shoulder and scowl. Your job barely covered your shoulder and you know magic alone isn't enough to heal completely. Now it's Catra's turn to laugh at you. She took one look at your shoulder and ripped the bandage off, clearly not caring for the skin underneath the medical tape.

"Excuse me?" you demand an explanation for the pain she caused you.

"How far do you think you're going to get with that?" she put down her ration bar to sit next to you on her bed.

"And how far do you think you're going to get on only half a ration bar," you counter, making her eye the part she put down in defeat.

She grumbles as she finishes her bar as fast as she can before she grabs the first aid kit and sits behind you on the bed. "Relax, loser," she touches the left side of the nape of your neck, avoiding the burn, and your shoulders drop.

She does a much better job than you do and the two of you make small talk. You ask if Catra is okay after giving Adora her sword and she claims she is, taking every chance she can to insult her and her new friends. She pours alcohol on your burn and you grab her wrist. She tapes a gauze pad on and moves back, letting you heal Adora's injury and your leg with magic.

Neither of you even question it when Catra pulls her covers over your head and to her chest. Then, a shape in the dark catches her eye: "You didn't eat your ration bar," she hisses at you, annoyed you were on her case about eating and you got to be too busy with your wound to eat.

"I'm not getting up."

"Fine." She just has to make sure you don't do the same thing and eat tomorrow without being overtly caring about it. It's probably going to be quite the challenge.
