I opened my eyes.

And realized I fell asleep of the floor. Damn it.

I got up and saw Jeff sleeping on the table and Mutt on the couch. It was so fun to see. Lana del Rey was still playing for I had a whole playlist of her music.

I turned off the speaker and was about to head towards the exit, when I heard Mutt calling me.

"Tell Miss Venable that we are not going to work today, ask her to cancel all appointments and to go home." He told me.

I smiled. Well, I had a perfect excuse to see Venable!

I was always glad to see her, even though she always spoke to me like I was the worst person in the world, and maybe, I was to her.

"Okay, I'll go tell her now." I answered. "Thanks for last night, it was amazing."

"Mhm, I'm glad. I love you." He told me.

I headed outside and drove to Kineros Robotics, I realized it was ten in the morning. For a strange reason, I felt like I had slept for an eternity, I felt relaxed and as if nothing in this world could put me in a bad mood. What a beautiful day!

Already being in Kineros Robotics, I went to the well-known reception and met Venable.

"Hello, Mina." I greeted her, and heard a plaintive sigh. I knew she hated it when I called her that.

"Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse." She grumbled, at which I laughed.

How much negativity she possessed, for all the time that I knew her, I never heard her say anything good. Her bad energy and low vibration disgusted me but attracted me somehow.

"Good morning to you too." I answered. "I just came to tell you that Mutt told me to tell you to cancel all appointments and take the day off."

She nodded.

"Alright, I'll be leaving in a few minutes. You can go now."

"Uh... he told me to wait for you to leave." I lied. Of course Mutt never asked me to do that, but it was a good excuse to stay with her a little longer.

She looked so damn good that day, most of the days she wore purple, but that day she was wearing a black dress with a black corset.

"I promise you, I will leave in a few minutes, just get the fuck out!" She yelled, notoriously irritated. "They're not here, you don't have to follow their orders to the letter."

I didn't know that my presence annoyed her so much that she didn't want me to be around for "a few minutes" until she left.

"You say that when you are their receptionist, HR and everything that matters in this company. If that's how you think, I don't want to imagine everything you've done or haven't done when they are not here." I replied.

She sighed and nodded.

"Fine, wait for me but please shut the fuck up." She finally agreed. "They wouldn't have promoted me if I wasn't so good at my job, don't you ever doubt of my efficiency."

She was not lying. They promoted her to all the important positions in the company at the same time, so they have not had the need to hire anyone else because she was good at everything. They paid her the same amount as they would pay about five people together. I didn't make a bad decision to hire her as a receptionist, after all, she was multitask.

"I'm sure they would triple your current salary if you stopped being so bitchy, but that is an impossible task for you." I snapped.

"It is impossible when people like you is around."

Touché... I was done, so fucking done...

"Why do we always fight for stupid things, huh?! I mean, we could get along very well if we try but you don't want it to be that way!" I said instead.

I really liked her and knew that deep down, she was sweet and nice. I was tired of the way we treated each other!

"It's not that I don't want to get along with you, it's just that I don't give a fuck about you, and it's better if I pretend you don't exist but you test me everyday." She replied.

It was probably the worst thing she has ever said to me, and she was right! She wasn't interested in me, in any way, but the way I provoked her to treat me even worse than before just made her hate my guts.

Then I realized... what if I treated her the opposite of how she treated me? Not that I had any hope of her changing her attitude towards me but that was better than what we were doing. I was sick of her being so rude.

"Well, just remember that you looked for it. You acted like such a bitch ever since we first talked." I replied. I had wanted to tell her all that for a long time. "You just can't expect everyone to be the way you want, nor you can't expect everyone not to react when you're being mean." I continued. She was going to answer but I stopped her from saying a word. "Let's behave like fucking adults, shall we? If you don't say anything rude, I won't say anything rude to you. And you will notice the difference." I proposed. "You have a nice day, I will tell Mutt you left, it's up to you if you don't".

And I walked outside, thinking that maybe it was going to start being different from now on. I didn't expect her to be incredibly nice to everyone but I really expected her to be nice to me at least. It was selfish to think so, but I really really liked her and I didn't care how she treated others, as long as she treated me well. But of course she didn't have to know that.
