It was not after five in the morning when I felt Wilhemina release me and get out of bed.

"Where are you going?" I asked her, with a sleepy tone.

"I'll go get water, sweetheart." She answered. "I want you to know that I will never allow anything or anyone to hurt you again." And with that, she kissed my forehead.

"I know, likewise." I fell back into a deep sleep, the last day had been exhausting from start to finish.

I wasn't sure how long I slept, but when I got up, I saw a glass of water with two pills on my nightstand, probably Wilhemina put them there in case I woke up with a hangover.

As I sat on my bed, she was not there, so I took both pills and went to the kitchen, there she was, cooking pancakes. It was too attentive of her to prepare breakfast, and I seriously missed cooking with her.

"Let me help you." I told her, and tried to take the container with the mixture but she pushed it aside.

"No, you cooked for me for months and many times I didn't even eat because I wanted to sleep longer. Let me make it up to you, at least a little." She countered.

I knew how stubborn she was sometimes, so I allowed her to redeem herself.

I went up to my (our) room, I wanted to check the messages even though they were the same people who wrote me.

Cordelia had written me twenty-two new messages, and from the preview I could see the last one, which said, "I would like to know how you are." I knew I could change my number but she was capable of coming all the way here to make sure I was okay.

I was in the shit, the hangover was killing me, I was harassed the night before, and on top of it all, I didn't even know if I knew my own girlfriend anymore. However, she did not have to know about my problems, I did not want nor had the obligation to tell her anything. Her only duty was to keep me alive or at least not let me die, with that she should have been satisfied but she was not. Damn Cordelia.

I heard the doorbell of my house, I was in the middle of the steps to open the door when Wilhemina opened it almost at the speed of light.

"Good morning ma'am, this woman disappeared earlier today, have you seen her? She goes by the name of Amber Newton." I heard the voice of an officer.

"Oh, I'm very sorry, but I have no information about her." Wilhemina replied.

"Very well, if at any time you find out about her, please contact us." The guard handed her a card.

"I will, have a nice day." She closed the door.

Amber Newton? I've never heard of her, or probably yes, a long time ago.

I went back up to my room, and took my cell phone, typed in the name of the missing girl, and when I hit "enter", I seriously hoped it was all a nightmare, a bad taste nightmare.

Amber Newton, last seen at the anniversary party of entrepreneurs Mutt Nutter and Jeff Pfister.

Missing: Amber Newton. Have you seen her?

Amber Newton was left in a park completely beaten and unrecognizable, but apparently the story did not end there.

Amber Newton was the girl who harassed me. Without realizing it, my phone was on the ground because my hands were shaking.

Was Wilhemina Venable capable of something like that? Or my two friends? I knew that they were capable of many things but practically kidnapping someone, it was something that my heart wanted to believe that it was all a mere coincidence, and that perhaps someone completely alien to us was the one who picked her up from that park.
