Their: This is the possessive version. It means more than one person owning something. Example: That's their dog. She's their daughter.  

They're: This is short for "they are." Example: They're going to do the project tomorrow.

There: This is the place. They are going over there.

To: This is when you're going somewhere. She's going to the shore.

Too: This is another way of saying "also." Example: She likes pizza too.

Two: 2 (Yes, I've seen people use this incorrectly.) 

Your: This is the possessive version. Your present. Your father.

You're: This is the contraction for "you are." Example: You're a pain in the butt.

It's: I know the apostrophe "s" usually means "belonging to," but this is the contraction for "it is."

Its: This is the possessive version.

Then: This is used for things in sequence. Example: We went to Matt's house, then we went to get Pizza Hut.

Than: This is used in comparisons. Example: She's cooler than you. I have more money than Jack.

Angel: This is the heavenly kind. A winged person. This version ends in gel. Like hair gel. Angel :D

Angle: This is the kind used in measuring. A ninety-degree angle makes a right triangle.

Hear: I hear you!

Bear: the animal/to support. To carry. To hold. ("I can't bear the thought of a bear attack" or "I can't bear the weight!") 

Bare: Without covering. Bare feet.

Effect: This is a noun. Ex: What will be the effect if she takes the medication? 

Affect: This is a verb. Ex: How will the medication affect her?


Ensure: I will ensure her safety.

Insure: I will insure her house.


Except: (Adjective) Without. Everyone got a cookie except Carl.

Accept: (Verb) She got accepted into the sorority. 

Hole: Diggin' up them holes. Holes!

Whole: Entire. She ate the whole pizza herself.

Herd: A herd of animals

Heard: Past tense of "hear"

Reed: The plant

Read: To read a book

Red: This is a color

Read: Past tense of read.


Wait: I had to wait for dinner to cook.

Weight: I stepped on the scale to check my weight.
