Chapter 5

Justin's POV

The kid approved music was blasting through the speakers that were being played by the dj , different tables were set up with activities for the kids to play with such as face painting , all types of food stands that you would normally find at a carnival, and most importantly tons of fun being had .

I had a park closed down and shut off from the public . There were over a hundred people between friends and families . I wanted to have this be more family oriented but due to the fact I had a lot of celebrity friends that would take offense if they weren't invited I just couldn't find it to say no .

It was all in fun anyways . The reason everyone wanted to be here anyways was to celebrate my beautiful angels birthday . I felt like a proud father showing my daughter off to everyone . I held her the entire time and made sure to keep her in close view whenever my mother wanted take her off somewhere .

She seemed very alert and aware once she was woken from her slumber and was presented to her party . It was a big difference from the party her mother has thrown . Yeah there were a lot of people and music and small activities for the kids but mine was much more vibrant . The music was louder , there were more people, more things going on at once . In a way I guess Gabbys was more intimate since i only seen her family there and maybe a few that looked like her friends.

"Alright it's time to let the birthday girl cut the cake !" My mom yelled . I made my way to the dj table and told him what was going on . "Alright can we have everyone come over to sing a very special happy birthday to princess Emery please ." The dj' voice boomed through the speakers . Not too far was a table where I sat Emery down on her booster seat .

"Okay I'm the count of 3 . 1..2..3..happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you . Happy birthday dear Emery happy birthday to you !" Everyone sung along while Emery looked around her frantically at the sudden faces surrounding her and singing to her. "Happy birthday baby girl make a wish ." I cooed in her ear . "Justin I don't think she can actually do it herself ." Selena laughed . I laughed with her and quickly blew out the candle for her. "Yayy !!" We clapped . That part she liked cause she started clapping and laughing too .

In one quick motion i lightly pushed Emery's face in the cake . Everyone burst into laughter and a few flashes of cameras went off including mine . Emery lifted her now cake covered face and blanked a few times before she burst into cries . "Aww." The crowd said . I laughed and picked her up. "It's okay baby girl. Daddy's sorry I love you ." I kissed her cheek . "Awww Justin you got her dress covered ." Selena frowned as she walked closer to us looking over at Emery's outfit .

"Aww Justin what did you do to my grand baby ?" My mom shook her head in disapproval. She pulled my baby out of my arms and into her own . "Oh guys she's okay . " I kissed her forehead . "I'm gonna get her cleaned up ." I watched my mom walk away with Emery while people stopped and took in her adoration. "Look I got good pics on my phone ." Selena smiled handing me back my phone . "Oh my god thanks these are great ." I scrolled through the millions of pics Selena managed to snap in such a little time of having my phone .

"Your welcome . This party is absolutely amazing . I had fun helping with it and being here . Thank you for letting me celebrate ." Selena got closer to me . "You know it's kinda bitter sweet. We're celebrating your daughters first birthday around the same time we're grieving from the lost of our own ." Her words made me cringe . "Don't do it ." I said through my teeth . I looked into Selena's eyes and seen they swell with tears . "I'm not doing this with you now." I said before walking away from her .

Gabbys POV

I was cuddled up on my sectional couch watching The Interview on Netflix . I had to admit this movie was undeniably funny but I could see how it was offensive . My phone was blowing up with Instagram, Facebook and Twitter notifications. Pictures from Emery's party was blowing up . I got nothing but positive comments from fans . A few questioning comments regarding where Justin was but that soon stopped .
