I have not done one of these for a while.
Here we are. Book 15, not even counting the two Morgan books. Well over two million words in the wild. I should count those someday...
One of the hardest things for me as a writer is that the story is the story. By that I mean, when I look at the length of the completed story, I worry if it's too long, too short, or if I hit all the marks. What about people that never read the Morgan books? How many background details fifteen books in do I need to have to remind people of things that happened seven books ago?
For example, the first story here is a direct follow-on to book 14. I spend no time putting in details on the assumption you just read 'Conclave Cruise' and know what is going on.
The second story here, by contrast, is based on the novel 'Missing Vampire: Reward Available'. That's way back at book 6. I spend more time filling in things here and there. Reminders, not retelling so much.
The short 'Mike and Janie' harkens back to the Morgan Olsen book series, and so I spend even more time filling in things, even though technically there was some revisitation two books back in 'Past Calling' of the events in Houston that drove Morgan out of there and into her fate.
'Porn Star' comes mostly out of the blue, though I have made references to the cast of that story in various other places, in particular in 'Naked Came the Vampire'.
So far so good. As I write this and because this is Wattpad and it goes up scene by scene, some of it has been read already. But: This is Wattpad, so if it turns out I need to add a few things here and there, your comments will guide me.
