"Daddy are you taking me to school tomorrow or my mama?"
"I'm taking you Sky."
"Okay good." She smiled. "We can get breakfast like we always do."
"Yo mama don't take you to get breakfast?"
"She tells me to eat at school but the food is nasty so I just don't eat."
I rolled my eyes.
"Go put yo PJ's on."
"I have to take a bath first silly." She giggled. "Imma find mama Kai."
I nodded and she ran off.
I took my phone out and called this ignorant bitch.
"What Saint?"
"You don't be feeding my fucking child?!"
"Who said I don't be feeding her?! She look pretty healthy to me!"
"Because she's spends most of her time over here! Don't make me take all yo rights away! Feed my fucking child Carmen!"
"Bye Saint!" She hung up and I threw my phone across the bed.
The shit I did and been dealing with I would have never imagined myself in this situation.
After my grandma died I spiraled out of control. I still finished school and played ball but I wasn't passionate about the shit anymore.
I fucked up when I started drinking heavy. It was a constant thing all the time but throughout my spiral Kairi stayed by my side as my best friend. She never gave up on me and I always thought she would.
We weren't together for a while but we still messed around from time to time so when I got this bitch Carmen pregnant it still felt like I betrayed Kai.
Me and Carmen weren't in a relationship at all. I was out drunk as fuck and had a quick fuck. Anybody I fucked that wasn't Kai I used a rubbed so of course I got Sky tested but she ended up being mine.
I don't regret Skylar at all because she's my world and she actually saved me from ruining my life. I just wish I didn't break Kairi's heart the way I did. The look on her face when I told her I had a baby on the way is something I'll never forget.
To be in this house with her right now and her helping me with Skylar is a blessing and always shadows who her mother raised her to be. I know if she didn't love me we wouldn't even be talking.
"What's wrong Pookie?" Kai came inside the room with a robe on.
"Just got off the phone with Carmen."
"And?"
"Bitch ain't been feeding Sky."
"Excuse me? She don't need to be over there at all."
