3 ~ Motivated

You sat down into the common room. You didn't feel like sleeping yet. Draco took a seat besides you. You turned you body to face him.

'Not sleepy?' You asked.

'My dad got me my own room. Because he was afraid people would hate me here. It's nice but not really fun. Just wanted to socialize for a bit.'

'Girls are drooling over you, guys think you're impressive. I think no one hates you.'

Draco grinned.

'Turns out no one does.'

It was quiet for a bit. You stared at him. Draco was really handsome to you. You felt attracted to him. He was special.

'What was it like?' You asked.

He looked at you. Straight into your eyes. You felt chills roll down your spine.

'What?'

'Being a.. you know.'

'Death eater? I was scared to death. I'm not gonna lie.' He grinned.

Draco turned himself towards you.

'Voldemort took over my entire house. I was being forced to be a death eater or else he would kill me. My family would disown me if I said no. I get told I got to be murderer, I fought on the wrong side. Even at the end I had to choose them or it would be my end. I was never truly free.. until now.'

You were staring at him in awe. Draco laid his hand on your upper leg. You looked at his hand and then at him.

'Did it hurt? Getting the dark mark?' You asked.

'No. Its a ceremony. It's really not pleasant but it doesn't hurt.' He said. 'Do you want to see it?' He asked.

You looked at him and nodded softly. He reached over to his arm and pulled his sleeve up. You saw his inactive dark mark. Basically a gray version of it.

Draco grabbed your hand and laid it on there. You looked at him.

'See. Nothing scary. Not anymore.'

'I was never scared of you.' You smiled.

'Good.' He grinned.

You looked at the stairs.

'I'm going to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow.' You smiled.

'Have a good sleep.' He smiled.

You headed upstairs to go to bed.

It was time for your potions class with Shughorn. Your first potions class after the war. You were very excited.

'Hey Y/N.'

You looked to your right and saw Draco. He was leaning against the wall infront of the potions classroom. First time you actually saw him in robes and not his suit. Didn't look bad on him either. You leaned against the wall besides him.

'Whats up?' You smiled.

In the distance you saw Peter and Grace heading towards you, holding hands. Before Draco could speak the doors to the classroom opened.

Everyone headed inside and you stopped and the end of the classroom. Professor Slughorn was still teaching you apprently.

'Welcome class. It's good to see you all. I will be teaching you this year. As many of you still remember, I am professor Slughorn. I will be preparing you for your NEWTs.'

You smiled. Potions was the thing you excelled at and you were ready to give it your all.

'But first eh.. let me see. I will pair you all up so eh.. you two, you two go together. Yes exactly. Then we have.. Ms Whittle you go with Mr Boswell.'

Grace was thrilled to be paired with her boyfriend of course.

'And last but not least.. see who we have left.. ah Mr Malfoy and Ms Y/L. You two go together alright.'

You looked at Draco and he smiled at you. At least you were paired with someone who seemed to be intelligent enough to know what's he's doing.

'Alright. Go ahead and sit at your tables. We will begin this year with the making of Veritaserum.'

Veritaserum? The truth speaking serum. Wasn't that a little dangerous. If you knew how to make it, it could easily be used for nothing good.

'Can anyone tell me what Veritaserum is.'

You eagerly raised your hand. Slughorn noticed you right away.

'Yes, Ms Y/L.'

'Veritaserum is one of the most powerful truth speaking serums.'

'Very well done. It is indeed. 3 drops can make anyone who consumes it spill their darkest and deepest secrets. I won't tell too much about it. We will all need to wait for the first day of the new moon to start this potion. Until then you are going to have to do your own investigation.'

Draco looked at you. He saw a the motivation in your eyes. He already knew he was paired with someone who loved potions just as much as he did.

'Together with your partner you will write a report about Veritaserum and add in the recipe before the first day of the new moon. Once approved you can brew. So let's begin.'

You turned to Draco and he looked at you.

'Whats the plan?' He asked.

You grabbed your potions book and laid it on the table. Draco watched you grab all your stuff with a smile.

'What?' You asked.

'Nothing.' He grinned.

'I suggest we meet up at the library tomorrow to do some research and we can write it together.'

'Sounds good.' Draco smiled. 'Lets go right after breakfast. That way we got all day.'

'Motivated. I like that.' You said.

You both decided to already do some research by looking up the recipe. It was a difficult potion to make because the timing had to be perfect. It would take 28 days to make.

You were really excited to work with Draco. You were always open to getting to know people better. This was the perfect opportunity to do just that..
