Chapter 1: The Sunset

About a week after we arrived here at the Safe Haven, Newt and I have been hanging out a lot more than we have with everyone else cuz we like being alone, being in each other's arms, kissing...and don't worry nothing serious yet if that was what you're thinking! One evening, I noticed a sunset at the beach. I decided to walk on the beach and stare into that sunset. It was such a beautiful sight I have ever seen. We never got a chance to see sunsets in the Glade because of the walls blocking the view. I heard footsteps approaching behind me. I turned my head around and saw Newt walking to me with a smile on his face. He puts his hand out as a signal for me to hold it. I hold his hand and we both stare at the sunset. I felt butterflies in my stomach being around Newt and watching a very beautiful sunset in the beach.

"It's very beautiful, isn't it?" I ask him.

"It certainly is. But not as beautiful as you, my love." he replies and then winks at me. I blush at that compliment.

"Aww...Why do I deserve someone so kind and thoughtful like you?" I say.

"Because you're very innocent, sweet, and gentle with others. You're also very sensitive and emotional and you deserve a lot of kindness." he answers.

"Yeah, but when I get emotional and upset, I'm just a burden. All I do is just drag you into my problems and I just get upset over stuff that are not a big deal. Like...isn't that annoying for you?" I look down in guilt. He looks at me sympathetically.

"No. Absolutely not. Getting upset over stuff that are not a big deal, it's because of your anxiety. It's normal. And you are not a burden. Don't ever think that. You don't bother me at all when you get all upset. I want you to be happy and safe. And I will do whatever it takes to protect you. You're always in my heart, Jacqui. I love you." he says wholeheartedly and leans our foreheads together.

"I love you, too, Newt." I reply. My cheeks start blushing at this romantic moment. Newt puts a hand on my cheek and we see the sunset is looking even more beautiful and there is a pink cloud while the sun is setting. We stare in each other's eyes and kiss passionately. God, his lips were so warm, soft, and gentle that I could kiss him all day. We sit down on the sand and we start making out. Suddenly, I felt his tongue try to make an entrance in my mouth. I jump at that and gasp. I liked it, I just didn't expect it.

"Did...Did I mess up, love?" Newt asked me in concern.

"No, no, not at all. It's just...I wasn't expecting...you know...the, uh...tongue. I liked it, I just...didn't expect it." I say shyly.

"Oh. Sorry. Well...do you wanna do it? If you're comfortable?" Newt checked with me.

"Sure." I reply.

"Okay. Just let me know if you feel uncomfortable, yeah?" Newt said.

"Okay, I will." I say.

We lean in again for a kiss. We kiss passionately for a few seconds and I was finally expecting it. His tongue entered my mouth and wow. It felt so tender. I have never had a kiss like this before. Newt and I had our first date watching the sunset at the beach in the Safe Haven. I hope we do this everyday.
