Chapter 7: Birth

About another few months later, my baby bump got even bigger. I don't know when the baby will come out, but I know it's gonna be soon. While I was hanging out with Sonya, Harriet, and Brenda, Newt came to check on me.

"How's my loving wife doing?" Newt asks with a smile.

"I'm doing okay now, thanks." I answer with a smile. I've never felt any better, thanks to Newt. God, you don't know how much I love him. He really knows how to help me through tough times.

"Gally, have you finished making the baby room with the others?" I asked Gally since I told him about a month ago to make a room for the baby. Even to decorate it.

"All finished, Jacqui." Gally answers with a smile.

"Thank you. You know, Gally, even though you were an asshole to Thomas and me, I'm glad you've redeemed yourself and decided to be on our side. Yet, you're still sarcastic sometimes, hehe. And if you died from Minho's spear, you wouldn't be alive and me and Newt wouldn't have had our cabin or our baby's room. Thank you for all your help." I say to Gally, thanking him.

"Anytime...girl-Greenie." Gally says with a smile. I chuckle at the former nickname he called me when I first arrived in the Glade. Suddenly, something didn't feel right. And I felt liquid drip between my legs. Oh no! My water broke! It's time! I gasp and breathe heavily from anxiety.

"G-Guys..." I breathe out with my breath shaking. The girls walk me over to the cabin and decide to take care of me. Newt is trying to come with me, but the others hold him back.

"Guys, that's my wife in there! You know how anxious she gets, she needs me by her side! Let me go!" Newt yells at the others as they let him go. He runs inside the cabin to our room and meets up with me and the girls. I have trouble breathing and I start sweating from the pressure. The girls try to calm me down and try to help out during the birth. Newt runs by my side.

"Hey...Jacqui. I'm here, I'm right here..." Newt holds my hand. I feel the baby inside me trying to come out. It hurts so bad! I squeeze Newt's hand and he squeezes my hand tighter reassuringly.

"Okay, Jacqui. We're get ready to push this one, okay?" Harriet says.

"Okay...Oh God, I can't...Please keep it inside...It hurts!" I sob.

"I know, but if you don't push it out, it's gonna die. It's gonna end up suffocating inside you." Harriet says trying to get me to understand.

"Oh God, okay!" I sob, giving up. I try to calm my breathing.

"Jacqui, breathe...shhh...I'm right here beside you. Okay? I'll be right with you the whole time." Newt soothes me and my breathing starts to calm down a little. I nod in response. I take a deep breath.

"Okay, deep breath...and...push!" Harriet says to me. I push as hard as I can and it hurts so bad! I scream as I try to push the baby out. Newt squeezes my hand tightly while I scream in agony. The baby finally comes out and it is . The pain finally stopped and I relax on the bed, lying on my own sweat on my pillow. I hear the baby crying which warmed my heart cuz I know the baby is alive and well. Newt looks at me with a proud smile.

"Jacqui, you did it...I'm so proud of you." Newt says to me and kisses my head despite the sweat. I smile back and see Sonya cradling the baby to calm him or her down.

"Is...Is it a boy or a girl...?" I ask weakly from exhaustion. Sonya checks to see.

"It's a girl...You two have a daughter...and I have a niece..." she says with a smile as she starts tearing up.

"Let me hold her, Sonya." I say as I reach my arms out desperately wanting to hold my little bundle of joy. Sonya puts the baby in my arms. And she's still crying.

"Shhh...shhh...hey.........Angelina..." I whisper to her calming her down and I name her after my mother. Her crying starts to calm down. She suddenly opens her eyes and looks at me and Newt. Since me and Newt both have brown eyes, she even has brown eyes, but I don't know who she's gonna look like most, either me or Newt. I cry tears of joy holding my baby girl in my arms. Newt lays right next me in bed and caresses Angelina's head and then kisses her head.

"She's so beautiful...just like you." Newt whispers with a smile as a tear streams down his cheek.

"She looks like you, too." I say to Newt with a chuckle. Angelina looks at both me and Newt with a curious face.

"Hi! Hi, baby! I'm your mommy!" I say to her with a high-pitched voice in which Newt chuckled.

"And I'm your daddy!" Newt says with a high-pitched voice. This is the happiest day of my life!

"Wanna hold her, Newt?" I ask him as I sniffle while still crying tears of joy.

"I'd love to, my love." Newt answers with a smile and I give Angelina to Newt. It warms my heart seeing Newt hold her in his arms. It was so adorable to look at.

"Awww! Who's ya daddy? Who's ya daddy?" I coo at the baby and chuckle. Newt chuckles as well. He kisses the baby's head. The baby starts to make a little fuss.

"Shhh...shh shh shh..." Newt soothes the baby. She starts calming down immediately. I could tell she loves Newt comforting her just as much as I do. I smile at the sight. I heard the door knock.

"Is it okay for us to come in?" Thomas asks through the door.

"Sure! Come on in, everybody. Come meet her." I say with a big smile on my face.

"Wait, did you just say 'her'?! IT'S A GIRL?! AWWW!" Minho groaned since he wanted it to be a boy and named after him. I laugh at that comment. The door opens and our friends came in to meet our baby. Thomas, Minho, Frypan, Gally, Aris, Jorge, Brenda, Sonya, and Harriet.

"Awwww!" they all say simultaneously. I giggle at their reaction. I lift up Angelina and make sure her face is towards everybody. I bounce her gently and imitate her.

"Hi, everybody! Hi, family! Nice to meet you!" I say with a high-pitched voice and making pretend Angelina is talking.

"What did you name her?" Brenda asks me with a smile.

"I named her after my mother. Angelina." I answer.

"Hey...I'm your Auntie Sonya...!" Sonya steps up front and then tickles her. Angelina starts giggling. Awww! Her first laugh! I rock her in my arms and see her smiling. I noticed something.

"Newt...she has your smile..." I say to him with a smile as a tear streams down my cheek. Suddenly, Angelina starts fussing and crying. I could tell she doesn't like seeing her mommy cry.

"Oh, no...don't cry. Wait. What was that? You want Uncle Gally?" I say with a sneaky smile. Gally shakes his head. Even though Gally redeemed himself, he's not really a softie sometimes, he's very tough.

"Aww come on!" I giggle as I give Angelina to Brenda and then she gives Angelina to Gally as he tries to keep them from giving her to him. Suddenly, she calms down. Even though I'm kind and innocent and I stood up for myself sometimes, I was never a person who messes with others or teases others, but I decided to have a little fun and mess with Gally.

"Awwww!" me and the others say as we tease Gally. He rolls his eyes and sighs in defeat.

"Whatever. Hey, Angelina. I'm your Uncle Gally. Here, go back to your mom and dad." he says with a half smile and gives Angelina back to me. I roll my eyes while smiling.

"Hey, Angelina. I'm your Uncle Thomas." Thomas coos at Angelina while smiling and caresses her head softly. This was so adorable, my heart was filling up with cuteness.

"I wonder if she's ever gonna sing just like you." Frypan says with a smile.

"I don't know. We'll have to wait till she starts talking and we'll see if she starts singing and then...we'll see." I reply as I agree with Frypan.

This is definitely a day that I will never forget. Now Newt and I have the most wonderful daughter in the world.
