When they got to the front, Dorothy ranged the bell and the gatekeeper opened the little window and asked "who rang that bell?"
"We did!" They said together
"Can't you read?" The gatekeeper said
"Read what?" Scarecrow asked
"The notice!" The gatekeeper said
They looked around confused and they said "what notice?"
"It's on the door - as plain as the nose on my face! It... oh..." gatekeeper said when he realized that there's no notice on the door, he does a tsking, expression, goes inside door for a moment. He hangs the notice and goes back inside
They read the notice, they all said together "bell out of order, please knock"
Dorothy knocks the door and he opens the window
"Well, that's more like it! Now, state your business!" The gatekeeper said
"We want to see the Wizard!" They said together
The gatekeeper gasps and said "the Wizard? But, nobody can see the Great Oz! Nobody's ever seen the Great Oz! Even, I've never seen him!"
"Well, then how do you know there is one?" Grace asked
"Because, he... I... Oh, you're wasting my time" the gatekeeper said as he starts to close the window
"Oh, please. Please, sir. Grace and I have got to see the Wizard. The Good Witch of the North sent us" Dorothy said
"Prove it" gatekeeper said
"They're wearing the ruby slippers and the ruby necklace, she gave them" Scarecrow said
The gatekeeper looked at the slippers and the necklace and he said "oh, so they are! Well, bust my buttons! Why didn't you say that in the first place? That's a horse of a different color! Come on in!"
They got in and everybody was wearing green and then the carriage driver came to them and said "just what you're looking for, take any place in city we does"
"Would you take us to see the Wizard" Grace asked
"The Wizard? the Wizard?" the carriage driver concerned "I..I..well.... yes of course but first I'll take you to a little place where you can tidy up a bit"
"Oh, Thank you so much! We've been gone such a long time and we feel so messy..." Dorothy said when they went on the carriage and then she saw a purple horse "what kind of a horse is that? I've never seen a horse like that before!"
"And never will again, I fancy. There's only one of him and he's it. He's the Horse of a Different Color, you've heard tell about" the carriage driver said they took them to the salon where they got a makeover
After that, they got out and on their way to the Wizard until the saw the Witch fly around the sky writing a note with smoke
"Who's her? Who's her?" Lion said
"It's the Witch, she's followed us here" Dorothy said
Then the note said "Surrender Dorothy and Grace"
Dorothy and Grace got scared when they saw the note
"Dorothy and Grace? Who's Dorothy and Grace?" The woman said
