After Y/n and Kurapika fully mastered keeping their aura balanced and learning the major principles of nen Isunavi then made them go through a water divination test to see which of the nen categories the two boys will land on 

"What do you think you'll be?" Y/n asked Kurapika who too focused on his thoughts

"Well I'm hoping to be an enhancer, how about you?" Kurapika questioned Y/n who thought for a moment

"Being an emitter sounds cool" Y/n responded making Kurapika chuckle

"Huh? what's wrong with being an emitter?" Y/n looked at him confused for a second

"Nothing, it just suits you" Kurapika smiled at Y/n making his cheeks flush red

It was then interrupted by Isunavi who brought a cup of water with a leaf on top

"We're gonna be doing the water divination test, you'll need to use your Hatsu on the cup for it to work" Isunavi explained to the two boys who nodded understanding what to do

Kurapika went first and focused his Hatsu on the water, the two noticed something forming in the water and this means Kurapika is a conjurer

"I was hoping to be an enhancer" Kurapika sighed to himself

"Well you can't change what your born with, Y/n you're next" Isunavi called out as Y/n stood up and focused his nen on the water

It took awhile for the water to change making Kurapika and Isunavi confused at first, But Y/n focused even more to get the water to change but it ended up being swallowed by what it looked like a shadow, this made the three very confused and surprised, Y/n stopped his hatsu but the shadow ended up taking the cup

"What just happened?" Y/n questioned in a state of shock 

"It means you're a specialist" Isunavi explained who was also in a state of shock

"That's very impressive Y/n" Kurapika manged to utter out his words making Y/n snap back to reality

"I'm a specialist? That's so cool!" Y/n exclaimed making the Kurapika and Isunavi smile at him

"Well now that you two know what category you guys are on, you two need to master it" Isunavi mentioned making the two high five each other

Months later Kurapika and Y/n managed to master their nen abilities which made Isunavi proud of them, while two of them were practicing Y/n decided to show off his abilities to Kurapika

"Kurapika check this out" Y/n called out Kurapika who was practicing his chains 

Y/n formed hand shadow of a dog making a black shadow form beside Y/n, it then revealed a wolf who had a mark on it's forehead of a talisman, this made Kurapika very surprised and Y/n proud of the creation he made

"ta-da I made a wolf his name is Kuro" Y/n showed off the wolf which Y/n patted on the head, it responded like a normal dog which made Kurapika very impressed

"I made him out of shadows and not only that look at this" Y/n then kneeled on the ground and made the floor turn into a shadow puddle, he then reached in the shadow to show Kurapika his hunters license

"I can store objects and materials in the shadow heck I can even go in it myself" Y/n exclaimed as he put his foot in 

"It's like a really big backpack to carry around" Y/n mentioned as he pulled out more of his stuff from the shadow

Kurapika chuckled at Y/n showing off his nen ability making him smile

"Oh and I have one more ability to show you" Y/n said as he stood still preparing himself
