The scene is gonna go a bit differently because of how powerful you are.

There is a lead, a big one. It has led you to New York, to the senators that hurt you the same way they hurt Karli. The senators that are responsible for so much pain in so many lives. Your gut is telling you to stay put, to let Bucky and Sam handle it, to stay back and wait for them to return.

'Karli...' you speak up inside her head. She flinched and looks around. 'You can't see me, I'm not there... I'm inside your mind so just... stay calm..'

'Stay calm?! You're inside my head!' She breathes. 'Get out!'

'You're on the wrong path... Karli... I've tried to reason with you... I have...  I don't want this to end in a huge fight... I know what happens if it does...please...'

'I'm fighting for something much bigger than myself Y/n...'

'You think I've never done that? Karli I fought for the world more than once... I've been on both sides... I can help you do what needs to be done but not when there will be so many casualties...'

'You didn't care... when you killed those scientists, or everyone else... you didn't care as long as you were free...' She spits at you.

'I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that...' you reply and you can hear her chuckle.

'You pretend to be one of the good guys... but who are you really? Deep down you want them dead as much as I do... because that's the only language they speak...'

She's right, that's probably the worst part of it all. She's absolutely right. You want them to suffer the way you did. To feel the pain you felt.

'Karli...' you warn.

'Its true isn't it? Are you really going to let them get away with this? They took away everything from you.. they punished you for saving the world... they hurt you because you're a mutant! Don't you remember the pain you felt?'

'Stop!' You snap at her. 'They may have hurt me but hurting them back proves exactly what they want to prove to the outside world Karli!'

It stays silent. 'Karli?' You ask but no answer. 'Karli are you still there?'

'I can't stop this...' she answers finally. 'Everything has already been out in motion...'

'You can stop it...'

'That's just it Y/n... I can't... I'm sorry...'

'WAIT NO-' you get cut off by a high pitched noise. 'AAAGH!' You yell as the noise brings you to your knees.

Your head is pounding, your ears ring from the noise you're still trying to block out, but to no avail. You pull back the connection and Karli feels you cutting it off.

The high pitched noise stops, you take a deep breath. She just used everything against you, that's not the same girl you met in that truck. At the very start of this mission she was different.

'Doll? You okay?'

'Yeah... Yeah... I'm okay...' you swiftly stand up again, a power surge flows through you all of the sudden.

'She's not going to stop on her own Buck... we have to stop her...' Your determination scares him a little if he's being honest. Karli flipped a switch inside of you. Something he's only seen once before and that was when you were still part Hydra.

'Y/n... don't let her get to you...' Bucky comments.

'She's not...'

'I can see that she is... don't let her do that to you...' he grabs your hand to make you look at him. 'You've worked so hard.. don't let it go to waste now...'
