"I never got to properly ask you," Adrien started as I closed my locker, revealing his face from the other side. "What are we now?"

"Whatever you want us to be." Winking.

"Well in that case," He picked up my hands and held it close to him, "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, will you be my girlfriend." Adrien proposed.

"Why yes I will, Adrien Agreste." We both laughed, but was soon interrupted by the bell.

"Shall we?" Adrien held my hand as we both walked to class.

"We shall."

Class was as boring as ever, having Adrien sneak glances at me every now and then kept me on my toes.

"Girl, what is going on between you and Adrien?" Alya whispered.

"Keep quiet, I'll explain it to you at lunch." I replied. She gave me a 'you better' kind of look.

"You all remember Lila?" I turned my focus away from Alya at this statement, seeing my rival enter the classroom. I felt anger flush to my cheeks as Adrien shot me a worrying look.

"It's okay" He mouthed in an attempt to calm me down.

"Hey guys! I'm so happy to be back! Life has just been so busy with all this travelling I've been doing!" Lying straight through her teeth as Lila bragged about her absence. The class soon surrounded her, Nino and Alya included, taking turns in expressing how much they missed her.

"This will be interesting." Adrien appeared at my side.

"How is everyone so fooled by her." I exclaimed.

"People believe what they want to believe, but as long as you and I know the truth, nothing else matters, right?" Giving me a convincing smile.

"Right." I told him, trying to convince myself too.

"Marinette!" My head gazed up at Lila who was now standing facing me, "I missed you so much!" Her mouth curved in a smile but her eyes told another story. She embraced me in a hug, 'I'm back to make your nightmares become a reality.' She said in a quiet tone, though I prayed someone would hear.

"Hey Adrien!" She waved, but Adrien gave no response back as she innocently walked away with a sway in her step.

"What did she say to you?" His hand took mine, feeling the tremble I tried to hide in my body.

"Oh how she was just going to make my nightmare a reality, no big deal." I scoffed, leaning back in my chair.
"It's alright, Mari. She can't do much with me here, she wouldn't risk it." He was right. Lila swooned over Adrien and she wouldn't do anything to me in front of him, his validation is what she wants.

"You're right."

"Okay guys, settle down. You'll all have a chance to catch up at lunch." Miss Bustier explained.

"Hey Adrien, maybe you should catch me up on school work later." Lila's attempt at flirting didn't go unnoticed by me.

"I'm alright, Mari and I are hanging out after school, isn't that right?" The direction of conversation was directed at me, Lila glaring and Adrien urging me to go along with it.

"Yeah, that's right." Confirming Adrien's claims.

"Well, Marinette can join us!" Lila offered.

"No, I prefer to hang out with Adrien alone." I projected, Adrien wildly grinning at me.

"Hmpf, whatever." She sneered, looking back up to the board.

For the rest of the period, I just couldn't get past what Lila had told me, what could she possibly have against me?
