Goosebumps covered my body as I shivered from the cold, the concrete beneath me feeling moist and damp. Blackness consumed my vision, desperately looking for any kind of light source. Restraints bound my hands up, hopelessly wiggling them around for any kind of escape, wincing at the pain inflicted on my wrist.
"Hello?" I call out in a rasp, my throat feeling extremely dry.
"Oh, good. You're awake." The door opened, a bright light shining through slightly blinding me. A silhouette stood in the door frame, towering over my hunched up body.
"Who are you?" Piercing my eyes together to make out a face in the darkness."That's not important right now, Marinette." The voice popped the T's.
"What do you want with me?" Watching as the stranger watched me from a distance.
"That's for you to find out." They turned around, closing the door leaving me in solid darkness once again. Great.
"Tikki?" I whispered, hoping my Kwami was still around me, I got nothing but silence in response.
Adrien's POV:
"Honestly, I'm very surprised that you out of all people are very keen on celebrating Marinette's birthday." Grinning wildly at my friends' newfound fondness for my girlfriend.
"Yeah yeah, turns out she's not as bad as I made her out to be." Rolling her eyes in response.
"Adrien! Adrien!" A high pitched voice called out for me from behind, whipping my head to see a ball of red flying full speed towards me.
"Tikki...?" A panicked Kwami hovered in front of Chloe and I.
"It's- It's Marinette," She puffed, struggling to catch her breath.
"What about Marinette?" Chloe shoved past me to come face to face with the Kwami.
"She was taken." Her voice broke, Plagg immediately coming out from my shirt to support the shaken Kwami. My heart dropped. Heat coursed through my veins, looking at Chloe whose face had paled.
"By- By who?" Chloe blurted out.
"I don't know," Tikki looked away.
"It's not your fault, Tikki." Plagg held the poor Kwami in his arms in his attempt to comfort her.
"We'll get her back." Chloe held out her hand as the Plagg and Tikki set themselves on it.
"Adrien, are you okay?" The blonde looked at me, leaving the two magical creatures to comfort each other. I turned my head away, the feeling of shame overpowering my emotions.
"It's my fault." My voice croaked, my eyes studying the ground.
"Adrien, it is not your fault. Why would you think that?" Chloe's voice sounded so sincere.
"I left her there, I never shouldn't have left her. I'm so stupid!" My arms flail in the air in exasperation.
"No, Adrien. We didn't know this was going to happen, do not hold yourself accountable for this. We will get her back, I promise." Chloe used her other hand to comfort me by resting it on my shoulder.
"Chloe's right." Tikki said as she flew off Chloe's hand and out of Plagg's arms. "We shouldn't be sitting here blaming ourselves. We need to go out there and bring her back." Plagg smiled at his beloved as she watched her bring herself together after her moment of vulnerability.
"But what do we do?" Chloe questioned.
"Who do we talk to first?" Plagg added on."Master Fu or... her parents?" They all stared at me, awaiting an answer.
