Third person's view

A gasp escaped one of them as they snapped their heads towards them.

The journalist was beyond shocked when the God asked him to ramble about the people he was observing, none have ever told him to do so willingly that didn't partake in anything work related.  He was ecstatic and trusted the man that he wouldn't say anything about the mean critics he would mention later.  He was good company so far,  so he hoped he was trusting the right person.

The God already asked this question once so it wasn't a problem asking that.  He loved when the brunet rambles on about the people he observed, giving out his thoughts about their occupation or position in that job.  He even thinks about what that person would be worrying about like first day on the job or a partner that was looking for them on the other side.  It was fun making stories with the brunet. The god adding some sort of downside to the story while the journalist lightened the whole mood up so the story was perfectly balanced.

They always did balance each other even in the most terrifying of situations. It made them even more perfect for each other.  Sadly, the two perfect pieces that they were had been completely broken by the time gap, the two souls yelling in pain for the other,  yet to no avail.  It was painful when they couldn't hold each other at any certain point of time. It was painful when they had to hide their affection for each other.

They needed each other desperately, but time just had to force them apart. It was truly unfortunate.

Yet, at the moment,  all that mattered was the two.  They can think about what happens next later. They didn't want their hearts to be broken at such an early aspect of the night.

"Oh!  Alright!  Uhm...  So,  do you know anyone in the crowd?" Was the first question that popped up from the brunet as he looks around,  trying to see who was the most interesting at the moment to base a story of. All of them looked dull and boring to be made a story of,  but the God pointed at an aristocrat that he hated the most since he almost costed him his job.

He smirked and cleared his throat.

The god knew exactly what he was doing.  At first,  he was confused about why Henry stopped speaking for a moment as he pointed at a random guy,  but then came the most creative words you could've ever imagined.

Yes,  it came out from the mouth of this British man that you would've never expected to.

Henry started ranting about the guy,  making up stories about him being a lunatic and getting everyone fired from their job just because they didn't do what he wanted them to do.  He wasn't far from the truth, Dream XD knew the aristocrat was that type of man in reality, but he refrained from adding that up to his story,  always listening to the rants the journalist had inside his mind.

It was exceptionally funny how he yelled anything that came into mind,  how everyone looked at him like he was nuts. He probably did in hindsight, but he was enjoying his time with this stranger.  The fact that this stranger also listened to him willingly warmed his heart and made him smile even as he was insulting someone behind his back.

He knew it was wrong to do that,  but honestly the aristocrat should be able to deal with it.  There's much more worse things he heard before about the man so he doubted his words can affect him.

The journalist kept on ranting,  letting his thoughts run freely as the God only listened and looked at the people he pointed at.  He discreetly held his hand watch from other his cloak and peaked at it,  seeing that time was moving faster than he desired.  The night was almost ending and he most certainly didn't want it to end.

Both of them didn't want it to end.

Unfortunately,  the god made the wrong choice of wallowing in that time and refusing to see Henry after ballroom event,  claiming he was busy even if he hadn't need to do anything at all.  He lied about it so he didn't get attached,  but what's the point? Why look for a man then not want to get attached and break him when you found him? He felt so selfish and unhappy with his decisions that he doubted himself all the time whenever someone wanted him to make a decision, opting to go with someone else's idea to keep himself safe from thinking about options.

He always did make the wrong ones that hurt the people he loved most,  so why let him choose again?

Ironic that people say that he could do whatever he wanted to since he was God, but they didn't think of the consequences that came to being a God.  All they ever think about is their own satisfaction and getting what they wanted that they'd willingly watch the world burn just to get it.

Dream wasn't like that though. He was sort of different.  He only wished the ones that deserved it ill and never took what he can do for granted.  He didn't give everyone what they wanted just because he can do it.

He wanted them to be sincere or for him to get something in return for trusting them.

The god had major trust issues after he witnessed the death of his friend.  His friend that changed him ever since he met them.

It was a painful memory to come back to and he refused to travel back in that time. It broke him so much the first time,  why make himself suffer for a second time?

The reason why he can visit Henry is because he never saw the man's death,  only seeing it in the newspapers and hearing the whispers around the streets about it.  It took him a while to get used to,  but it was easier to move pass than something you remember forever.  The pain of his friend's face was forever planted in his mind and he refused to let go of the pain he felt.

He blamed himself for never helping him when he had the chance.  He was a coward.

"Hello?"

Ah.  There it is.  He was beginning to wonder when he'd speak.

The god acted like he just flinched and snapped his head towards the brunet,  feigning shock as the other gave him a warm concerned smile.

"Are you alright? You seem distracted." He asked, his fingers dancing with eachother a little.  Another nervous he picked up.

"You're very observant, you know?"

"Pardon?"

The god only chuckled as his response, confusing the brunet even more.  Was there a problem with being observant for the God?

He only shook his head and leaned back on the wall to look back at the ballroom scene they had in front of them,  the shorter of the two following along.

The only had a few minutes together until the last hour of their clock chimed.
