"Hey, Jungkook, wake up.". Jimin whispers, shaking him gently.

"Huh?". Jungkook rolls over and groans, arms still latched around Jimin. "What time is it?".

"It's midnight, but that's not the point. Let's go outside.".

"What?".

"Let's go on the roof.".

"Jimin, it's-".

"Midnight, I know. But it's so pretty tonight. Please?".

Jungkook groans, rubbing his eyes.

"Fine. Let me wake up first.".

Jimin nods eagerly, crossing his legs at the edge of the bed, watching Jungkook stretch and yawn.

"Baby...".

"I know, I know. I'm coming.".

_____

"It's so pretty, right?". Jimin asks, edging closer to Jungkook, wrapping an arm around him, head resting on his shoulder under the night sky, velvety black dotted with more stars than they could count, a rare sight in the city.

"Mhm. Just like you.". Jungkook jokes, and Jimin rolls his eyes playfully.

"I know, right?".

After a long silence, only the two holding each other, sharing the occasional smile or kiss, Jimin speaks up again.

"Do you know what you want to do yet? With finals up?".

Jungkook shrugs lightly.

"Business or politics. They both seem interesting. Maybe I'll start working at a company.".

"Like my mom's?".

"Mhm. What about you?".

"What I want to do, or what I see myself doing?".

"Both.".

Jimin sighs.

"I see myself working as the next CEO or VP of my dad's company, getting married and settling down and carrying on the family legacy. But I want to write, and never have to grow up and settle down and travel the world with my beautiful boyfriend. But, I guess, I need to make sacrifices for being born in this life, having everything handed to me.".

"You can still do all of that, you know? Who's to say you need to work for your family? As long as you're not dependent on them, you can do whatever you want.".

Jimin shrugs.

"I'm not so sure of that. But honestly, you'd be so much better at what I'm doing right now. I wish we could trade, sometimes.".

"Gladly. I'd take up that job, but I feel like your father hates me.".

"He doesn't hate you. He's just scared of you because I tell you everything. You could ruin his life if you wanted to.".

"Oh.".

"Mhm. You could use that power, if you wanted. I say you should try it. I'll quit, I was planning to, anyways. And you can take the job I got.".

"Really?".

"Of course. Only if you want it, that is.".

Jungkook turns around, climbing onto Jimin's lap and presses a slow, soft kiss to his lips.

"Thank you, seriously.".

"Anything for you, love.". Jimin responds, smiling against Jungkooks lips.

_______

"What time is it?". Jungkook whispers as he opens his eyes again, close to falling asleep on Jimin.

"No clue. You wanna go in?".

"We should. School tomorrow.".

"Right. I almost forgot.".

Jimin kisses the top of his head and Jungkook sits back up, standing up with a yawn.

"Can I stay in your room tonight?".

"Mhm, of course.".

____

"Jimin?". Jungkook rolls over, nudging him lightly and Jimin opens his eyes, turning around.

"Mhm?".

"I can't sleep.".

"Don't worry, you can sleep in tomorrow.".

"Don't we have school?".

"Just say you're sick. You need to get some sleep, you go to sleep at 3 AM these days. Take it easy, okay? You study too much.".

"I know, but I need to get all 100's for finals. I can't risk messing anything up.".

"You're too hard on yourself.". Jimin tells him, and Jungkook sighs.

"I know. But being top of the class is the only way I'll get out of this. I wish it were that easy that I could get into college with my status or just pay, but since my parents wouldn't even be able to pay for all the books, I'm going to need to be perfect just to get in. And, like, I can't just go waltzing in on your job and say I'm replacing you. They're not going to take it, but if my grades are good and I have potential, at least, I won't get looked down on that much.".

"I'm sorry.".

"Don't be. It's not like it's your fault that the system's so fucked up.".

Jimin sighs.

"I know, but I still feel bad, because it's my family who's supporting it. And it's not fair that you have to do all this. No one should, but it's just shitty that someone like you gets looked down on just because your mom works for mine, and that you have to work twice as hard as I do for the same grade just because my dad owns the school. We should have traded lives, really."

"Don't say that.". Jungkook says, hands trailing from Jimin's waist up his chest and resting on his chin. "I don't believe in fate or destiny much, but it was meant to be. I was lucky in life, at least school always came easy to me, so I'm good at what I need to. And you were lucky to be born rich, which is why our families are so stressful, maybe. Balance, right?".

"Yeah, but that balance is just... I don't know. You have what I want, but too much, to the point that it ruins you, and it's opposite for me. And because of that, people think we can't be together ".

Jungkook nods.

"I know. But be honest, when did you care about what other people think?".

Jimin shrugs.

"Never, honestly. But you do. So I'll make sure that when I can, I'm going to change the world for you, baby. Even if it's just for a bit, I want you to feel like we can do whatever we want, okay?".

Jungkook smiles, edging a little closer as Jimin cups his face in his hands.

"Okay.".
