Chapter 9

Dennise and Alyssa became friends. Real close friends. But for the record, no. Not friends with benefits. What happened between them that summer was a drunken mistake. And so was the make out session that night at Alyssa's truck.

No, nothing happened between them that night.

They were so into their 'make out' session when suddenly, Alyssa's phone rang.

"Uhm... Den, I'll just... I'll just get that" Alyssa said while kissing Den's neck.

"Hmm... Alright."

They both stood up. Alyssa went down from her truck and took her phone off of her pocket. Her eyes widened when she saw who was calling.

It was Darla.

She answered her phone.

"He- hello Ms. Darla?"

Dennise's head jerked when she heard her sister's name. She gave Alyssa a puzzled look. Alyssa shrugged and bit her lips nervously. She put her phone on loudspeaker.

"Uhm Ly, sorry to bother you from your sleep."

"No, no it's fine. Why did you call?"

"Uhm, well I've been calling Den for the past hour now and she isn't answering her calls...."

Dennise slapped her forehead when she heard what her sister said. She left her phone at her bag inside Alyssa's car.

"....and well I'm starting to get worried. I tried calling her friends but no one knew where she went. Nagpunta daw sila ng resto bar pero after that, wala na silang alam. I tried calling her condo's phone but no one answered either. Sabi naman ng security, 'di pa siya umuuwi."

Dennise felt guilty about the situation but she can't help but feel happy because her sister obviously loves her so much.

"Ly, she doesn't normally do this kaya ako nag worry. Ano na kaya nangyari sakanya? Is she fine..l
.. And... And... I don't know who to ask help kasi I don't want our parents to get worried... Maybe, maybe you could help me find her?"

Alyssa looked at Dennise's eyes, asking what to answer, what to say. Should she tell her that they're together or not? Dennise mouthed 'Ikaw na bahala.'

Alyssa nodded.

"Alright, Dar. Don't worry, mahahanap din natin siya. Promise. Don't overthink, okay? Stay calm. I'll bring her home. I'll call you. Bye."

"Thank you, Alyssa."

Alyssa ended the call.

"Shit."

"Ganto, kunwari I found you somewhere in Tomas. Kunwari you were so drunk that you passed out sa isang waiting shed." Alyssa said.

They were thinking what to say to Darla when they go home.

"Wag, 'di ako magaling umarte ng lasing. Kunwari, nalang you found me waiting for a cab. Tapos my phone ran out of battery kaya ganun." Dennise suggested.

"Bahala na." Alyssa replied. When it got silent, she spoke again.

"Bakit 'di nalang natin sabihin na magkasama tayo?"

"Are you nuts? At pag tinanong tayo ni ate kung bakit tayo magkasama?
'Ah, wala po. Wala lang, trip lang. MOMOL somewhere out there.' Ganon?"

"Gaga! That is not what I meant. Haha. Pero ano ba kasi tong ginagawa natin...." Alyssa said while driving.

"I don't know either.... We're.... Friends. We're friends. Yun."
