Chapter 10

Alyssa woke up because of the pain she felt in her head.

"Oh my god...my head is pounding."

She tried to get up but it only made her headache worse.

"Holy shit. Ugh. I am never drinking again!"

And because she couldn't get up, she decided to just lay in bed until her hangover wears off.

She was just staring at her ceiling when she realized something. She looked at her bedside clock.

"Holy shit, Saturday pala ngayon?! Oh my gosh, late na ako!"

She quickly reached for her phone and saw 7 missed calls and 5 messages.

2 missed calls and 2 message from Darla, 2 from Darla's secretary and 3 missed calls and 3 messages from Dennise.

She opened Darla's text

Where are you? Are you not feeling well? Are you still going to work today?

Ly, why are you late? Are you sick? Please call/text back. I'm worried!

She quickly typed a reply.

Sorry, I just woke up. I'm not going to work po today, I'm not feeling well eh.

And then she opened Dennise's texts.

Hoy, sabi ni ate late ka daw. Wru? May sakit ka? Reply ka pls

Ly, late ka daw ah? Nasan ka?

May sakit ka? Punta ko sayo, gusto mo?

Her lips formed a smile after reading her texts. She was concerned and somehow she felt a little kilig inside.

Uhm no worries, I'm okay. Hangover lang to haha but please don't tell your sister na kaya ako 'di nakapasok kasi may hangover ako.

Message sent.

She got up, fixed the mess, cleaned her room and took a long bath.

When she got out of the shower, she noticed her phone's screen flashing.

She unlocked immediately to read the text.

Dennise Lazaro: Do you want me to go there? I only have 1 class for today and it's already done.

She was touched. She noticed that it was sent 40 minutes ago.

"Did I bath for 40 minutes? Woah."

She was typing a text saying that Den doesn't have to when she heard her door bell ring.

She quickly went to the door.

There she was, standing with food in hand.

"Den! You didn't have to!"

Alyssa did not expect that.

"Well.... Uhm... You didn't answer my text so I assumed you passed out or something. It's alright, I aint doing anything anyway."

Dennise noticed Alyssa being embarrassed and she found it extremely cute.

"Uhm... Alright... Thanks.. Come in."

Alyssa was embarrassed....and touched.

"How was your hangover?"

"Oh, it's alright. Uminom ako kanina ng gamot. Actually, nakapag linis and ligo na ako kaya di ko nabasa text mo. Sorry about that." She sheepishly smiled at Den.
