A week later
Winnie made her way into the city for the first time since the ball. It was a Saturday afternoon when her driver pulled her up in front of Kelsea's building.
Kelsea answered the door to see Winnie. She removed her hat and sunglasses.
"Mrs-.." Kelsea said but was cut off.
"Honey I am not here for my son. I am here for you and my grandson." Winnie said
"Come in.." she said
Kyrie was playing in the floor with dinosaurs and making dinosaur noises. Kelsea made them some tea as Winnie sat on the couch.
"Donovan was right. He does look a lot like Paxton." Winnie said
"How does your son know?" She said
"The older boys..my good ones. They said they seen you and him a few days before the ball when they were having brunch. They said that the two matriarchs were acting weird and whispering angrily. Now they know why.." Winnie said as she took a sip of tea.
Kelsea sat her cup down.
"Kelsea..what happened between you and my son?" Winnie said
She bit her lip. "Please don't judge me..back then I had no family really. I had my self made family..and I was working two jobs. One of which was the diner and I was also a bottle girl at the Pink Buzz. Your son was there for a bachelor party but he eventually broke away and kept talking and flirting with me all night. He wasn't wearing a ring I didn't know he was married it never came up. He waited for me and said he wanted to take me to bed. He spent the whole weekend at my old apartment. We had sex cuddled up watching movies cooked together but then late Sunday night he said he had to go and that was the last time I saw him before the sidewalk altercation where he acted like a total ass. Denied that the baby was his and to never show my face there again. He kept looking around at first I didn't understand why he kept looking around it wasn't until I saw those pictures that I realized what had him so scared." She said
"He was trying to make sure it didn't get in the press. He was going through a lot I saw the dates on the pictures. That was right around the time Rochelle had been diagnosed with cancer. She passed away last year when it came back with vengeance." Winnie said
Kelsea bit her lip as she looked down.
"Look Kelsea I'm not trying to tell you what to do. Yes my son made a lot of mistakes but that his son. You should really start or atleast think about letting him see his son." Winnie said as she sat the tea cup down on the coffee table.
Winnie stood up. "I should go..thanks for talking to me." Winnie said as she put her disguise back on.
That night after she returned she went by Bucky's place. He answered the door.
"Mom.." he said
"Lunch tomorrow at 12pm. At our usual lunch place." She said
"Yes ma'am." He said as she left.

The next afternoon he met Winnie at their usual spot and table. The place knew their order by heart.
"So I talked to Kelsea." Winnie said as she squeezed some lemon into her water.
Bucky looked down.
"She laid it all out for me. How you two met and how you spent the whole weekend with her and then disappeared. How you treated her when she came to you to tell about the baby." She said
Bucky swallowed hard.
"You need to start with showing her that you aren't the asshole. Be the guy you were to her that weekend. The sweetheart the gentleman..and maybe do something that your father hasn't done." Winnie said
"What's that?" He said
"Address the press. Put it out there for the world to see and for her to see you are done hiding behind them. But the example James show your dad that you are a better man than he is." Winnie said
Bucky looked at her. "Don't be scared. I can call Shelby and Don can help you write the speech we can start to mend this from the outside." Winnie said
"Okay." He said in a low tone.
"But start with a heart felt apology to her." She said as he held his hand.
"Yes ma'am." He said as the waiter brought out their food.
