(24) Dinner with The Barnes

Two months later

Now that the family has been rebuilding itself back together. Dianna decided to host a family dinner that also included Abby and her family. All the great grandkids were playing in the playroom. Abby was introduced to her half siblings and they all accepted her and Jason with open arms as well as their kids. 

The house was filled with laughter chatter once again. Abby found Kelsea as she was watching Bucky with the kids. 

"You okay?" Abby said 

"I'm great." She said as Dianna called everyone to dinner. 

They all sat down at the long dining room table as they got the little ones settled at a kids table. Dianna had been watching Bucky all night he was affectionate with Kelsea more than she ever saw him be with Rochelle. They both had the look of love when they looked at each other. 

James Sr saw her smile. "What's with the smile darlin?" He said 

"He's happy. I've never seen him this happy before James. Or his smile that big in a long time." Dianna said 

James Sr looked down as Bucky fed her a piece of pie. "He is happy that's the Barnes men look of love." James Sr said as he sipped his scotch. 

The next day Bucky came by her office after work he had her in his lap as they sat in her chair together. She was staring at the sticky note that Lincoln had given her. 

"Who is Lincoln Franklin?" He said as he rested his chin on his shoulder.

"My father..he came by here a couple of months ago. Told me what happened between him and my mom. It appears that there had been some mixed communications or something. I had someone look into his story. It all checked out.." she said 

"You want to go meet the rest of the family?" He said 

"I think so..I'm scared." She said 

"Well then we will make it a family trip. Me and the kids will go with you." He said as she looked over her shoulder. 

"You would do that?" She said 

He kissed her. "I'd do anything for you." He whispered 

"Let's go eat I'm starving." She whispered as they left her office.
