The Princes walked with Dark and Argon walked behind them, keeping an eye on them and how they acted towards her. Raven, Bonnie and Night had been given instructions by Torga to lead them through the market to keep they away from the great stadium where the Princes would be competing for her in marriage.
The Princes talked on and on about different things of themselves, hoping she would like them even if they lost the competition. Though Dark didn't really have anyone of interest, she just wanted all of it to be over with and maybe some things could return to normal.
But not everything was going to be the same, especially when her life was at risk. Argon remembered that her folk would send those of shadows to protect her as soon as they knew her location. Since she is their leader, and her folk had been known to know more about others than others know of them, he had a feeling if she was scared enough, they would bite back for her.
Dark said nothing as the Rock Prince, Grohath, talked about The Great Stone Desert and how he loved to play hide and seek with his younger brothers whenever they had the chance. The Fire Prince, Rogen, told about his adventures through the Lava Flats, telling how he was the only one of his brothers to cross the lands. The others had their own stories, of course they had to tell them so she would like them.
Or so they thought, but she didn't want to talk about great achievements, she wanted real conversation like what she had with her friends and family. Yet she wasn't sure how to get them to stop as it seemed their fathers had them doing it. She knew if she married one of them, they would be able to rule over her home lands, and she didn't want to marry someone who would do harm to it or the folk in it.
As she thought about whom was a good choice, that golden dragon male was watching, he laughed to himself, thinking about how easily he believed he could take them out and rule her lands. He just needed to get her alone so he could scare her into loving him, yet not everything would be so simple....
An hour passed and the Princes had gone into the food stalls area of the market and where each getting Dark something to eat so she would like them more. He saw she wasn't guarded at the moment by Argon whom was talking to one of a Royal Dragon whom needed to know some of her interests so they could figure out the order of events in the competition.
The golden dragon knocked her friend and family away, they growled at him as he showed no fear towards them. He used a wing and held her close to him, she was scared and uncomfortable to be near him, worried he would hurt her. Argon and the Princes saw what happened and came over quickly.
He laughed at them, "Sorry boys, this little princess belongs to ME." He laughed again, his wing claw dug into her shoulder, she whimpered scared, she didn't want him to wound her, and he obviously didn't care if she lived after marriage by the way he looked at her.
A howl came from the woods behind them, he growled and ordered her to marry him... Bad choice.
More howls, deep and great, with power and might, they called, warning him to step away before things went south. But he didn't care to heath their warnings, instead he pinned her down with a paw, she yelped afraid and whimpering in some pain from his claws.
Suddenly, Shadow Direwolves jumped from out of nowhere, coming from pure shadows they launched at him, bigger than Bonnie and easily able to destroy Argon if they wanted to. They tore through his scales and ripped his hide, no matter how hard he fought they swarmed him like bees on a wasp.
The crowds watched in horror as he was overwhelmed by a cloud of shadows and darkness, the shadow lands had made their point. One of the direwolves stepped from the shadows behind her, he lowered his head down and checked her backside, making sure his queen/princess wasn't hurt.
She was scared still, but knew nobody could save him from their anger. The Princes saw Torga was right, if her people didn't like you, then you stood no chance against them.
(Raven's artwork, she amazing uwu)
The shadowed ones then disappeared into the woods, the shadow direwolf looked at the crowds, growling at them as a warning to not do as he had done. And what of the golden dragon? He was nothing but bones...
The shadow direwolf stood behind her still, he turned and looked at them, "Don't dare to do what he had. If so, not even your bones shall be left to be buried.." he turned and bowed to her, then walked to the woods, disappearing into the shadows.
Argon picked Dark up and set her on his back, "The walk is over, she's going home for the rest of the day. Let's go!" The group followed him as he flew her home, the Princes told their fathers what happened and Torga was sent to check on her health.
Torga carefully checked Dark where he had put his claws, she used her magic to heal the dips in her skin that his claws had caused. Torga helped Moonclaw calm her down as Ectoplasm asked everyone what happened. They explained it to him and he was shocked of their sudden appearance.
Though the event was shocking, they had to get ready for the true event. Since they were considered her pack, they would be given personal seats just below the royal seating area. They needed baths and to get ready for tomorrow as it would be a long day for them all...
~Meanwhile at the Lava Lakes~
"Are we ready yet?"
"Don't worry Sia, they will never know what killed them."
Evil laughter fills the red hazy air....
