They traveled through the lands, for some it was easy but for the others it was not. The flames of thousands of reasons lay around them, dancing in the air like children. Yet they weren't to be trusted, something was out there and the pack had yet to realize it.

"How long until we reach the Sun Kingdom? This heat is killing me."

"Oh relax, we're almost to the Eastern Steam Vents."

"Easy for you to say redhead, you are built for this place."

They continued on even through the arguing, with the only conclusion being that they would be thankful for the heat to end. As they entered a patch of forest their nerves became off, something wasn't right.

The trees swayed back and forth as the winds shifted and turned. Dark looked at the sky, unsure if they were on the right path, as the air began to feel heavier on her back.

"We should fly out." Argon said from nowhere, "It isn't right."

"What isn't right?" Sunheart asked as they all came to a stop.

The princess was again leading them, her eye scanned the trees above them and around them. Then it happened, all at once-

Fire seemed to erupt from nowhere, swarming the group along side their attackers. Fire beasts of black colorings with red stripes painted on them.

"Ambush!" Argon yelled as he knocked his attackers back.

"Everyone! To the border!" Bonnie yelled for the whole pack to hear, knocking one of his attackers away and grabbing the nearest rock to smash into the face of another.

The group had no other choice, they split up, running and fighting their way to the border. Yet Dark was not so lucky, the pup had been slung from her bag by a collision with an attacker.

She'd received him but the fire was everywhere, it made she shake as images ran through her head, ones she'd long forgotten. The enemy revealed himself, that damn fire wolf-

He laughed, a broad smile plastered on his face as he moved towards her, "Oh your majesty~ Did you really think we wouldn't find you?"

Her eyes wide as she trembled, unable to hide the fearful memories from her mind...

And unable to move her body-

Yet she didn't have to, instead her faithful guard did, he grabbed her pup from beneath her and lifted her up on his back.

The shadow direwolf growled, "You will not harm either of them!"

The sociopathic wolf laughed, then attacked without hesitation. Yet her warrior was ready, swiftly dodging the furious beast with unmatched agility he moved through the burning blaze.

The wolf didn't give up, jumping through flames without worry as he chased them.

"Oh why run? I'm only here to help!"

Jason didn't respond, nothing could break his concentration the task at hand- uh- paw. A few trees were knocked down into his path but he jumped them, clearing them with ease.

His eyes widened, seeing the new obstacle in his way.. a cliff face, at least a ten foot tall jump. Yet it was his only way out, otherwise he'd have to face the wolf following him. With Dark unable to respond it would be too big of a risk to battle there.

So he ran faster, gaining more speed as he rushed towards the tall wall of stone, and he leaped-

The rest of the group had gathered near the Sun Kingdom border, it was a good distance away but in all it's shining glory it was there. Yet as they were gathered they saw no signs of the others, it worried Raven to no end.

Her sister was still back there yet she was stopped at every turn to find her.

"Please we have to go back for her-"

"If we go back they'll just kill us before we have the chance to look for her. Raven, we have to be careful these aren't just some punks-"

"SHE'S MY SISTER!"

Raven's fury was plenty to startle her boyfriend into silence. The female paced back and forth as the group wondered where the three whom they'd lost in the forest were.

The sound of paws could be heard, drawing their attention to the mighty warrior who carried the princess on his back. The pup was still in his jaws while Dark had appeared to have passed out during the journey to safety.

Seeing them alive the group immediately began following as the warrior didn't stop running towards the border

Seeing them alive the group immediately began following as the warrior didn't stop running towards the border. The guards at the Sun Kingdom's border saw them and immediately called for aid.

The smell of smoke was fresh on their fur and in their noses but it was clear that one thing was true.....

They truly did not know how safe they were anymore... Or how long it would take for the next attack to occur...
