For the last two weeks, Taehyung brought Charlie's daughters with him to visit their mother as much as he could. Sometimes though, he is glad when he is alone with her and his fingertips discover her face by touch or she reacts with goosebumps when he kisses her cheek. By now, he has memorized every little curve and mole that embellished her beautiful face.

Slowly, he is getting better at the task of being in charge of two little girls. The most challenging part so far had been braiding their hair for school. Each one of the men in the group had tried and only Yoongi had succeeded. So, he was declared to be the one doing their hair before school, which Yoongi always pretended to hate but Taehyung has caught him on more than one occasion giggling and playing with the girls early in the morning.
All in all, they have all the major responsibilities divided between them. Namjoon and Jungkook would do the homework with the girls, Jin and Yoongi are the ones getting them ready in the morning, and Jimin and Taehyung take them to the playground or entertain them otherwise. As for Hoseok, he has volunteered as their personnel driver, resulting in the guys teasing him that he just wants to see the hot mothers when he brings the kids to school which he never denies.

They thought they had it all under control until Dr. Choi alerts them that the National Child Protection Agency has been asking about Charlie's kids.
"I am sorry Taehyung. I know she means the world to you but I cannot hold back such information." The doctor apologizes as he crosses paths with Tae in the hospital.
Taehyung is alarmed but hides it well until the seven had gotten the girls into bed that night.
"Guys, can we have a meeting? I have some news." Tae invites the others before they go to their respective rooms.
"What is it?" Jimin sits next to him, looking at Taehyung's worried expression.
"The National Child Protection Agency has asked Dr. Choi about the girls and he has informed them that they are staying with us."
"Oh No!" Namjoon lets out as Jungkook just asks innocently, "Is that a bad thing?"
"From what I know, but I will have to read more about it, the National Child Protection Agency can take children into their custody if there is no legal guardian like family to take care of them."
"So they could take Jia and Moon away?" Jimin's voice is sad and upset at the same time.

At that moment, Namjoon's phone rings and he excuses himself to take the call.
"We cannot allow them to take the girls!" Jungkook declares firmly.
"We are not family, what do you want to do?" Hoseok tries to reason with the youngest.
"Prove to them that we can take care of them. We are BTS." The voice Jin is using does not leave any doubt about how serious he is.
Namjoon reappears with a sad expression.
"Manager-nim will be here in a minute to have a meeting."
"About the girls?" Jimin asks in disbelief.
"No, about our comeback now that Taehyung is getting better."
Taehyung leans back against the couch, closing his eyes as all sorts of emotions go through his head.
"Tae, whatever it is you do, we will always support you." Hoseok lets his dongsaeng know.

As Namjoon has already announced, the manager tells them about doing a comeback in less than a month.
"Less than a month?" Yoongi replies in incredulity.
"Yes, you have the songs ready, even some of the choreography so it should be no problem."
'No problem!' Taehyung is laughing inside as he recalls all the problems he is facing right now.
"What about the girls we are taking care of right now?" Jungkook asks the manager.
"That is the other point for the meeting. The National Child Protection Agency has contacted us earlier. They will come and get the girls in two days. So, you do not need to worry about them."
Taehyung jumps up, his fists clenched to his sides.
"They will never get them!" He shouts to the manager before fleeing to his room.

Taehyung collapses down on his bed, his head buried in his pillow as he screams out his frustrations.
Before his inner eye, he sees Charlie's bright smile and he hears her soft voice telling him that it is not his fault.
But he decides that he can't fail her, he needs to keep his promise and look after the girls.
Energetically, he walks back outside to the group, and luckily the manager has left.
"Joon-hyung, can you help me find out how to keep the girls with me?" The group looks at their friend and they can see his determination.
"Are you sure Tae?" Jin inquires walking over to him.
"I will not give these girls up and I will not betray my promise to Charlie. So yes, I am sure!"
"What about the comeback?" Yoongi asks, looking up from his seat.
"I have not thought about it. But a comeback will not change my mind about this." Taehyung declares when all get up for a group hug.
