Nurse Anderson's POV

I feel so sorry for the Rachel, I've been with her for every step of the pregnancy, she didn't expect her baby to come early, no one did.

It's weird because sometimes we can identify problems which will give the mother more of a chance of giving birth prematurely. Rachel was fine, I couldn't identify any signs or problems.

Leaving Rachel and Finn in the room, I don't know what to say. They are basically still kids themselves and now their baby has been rushed away from them.

-After Noah's Examination-

Grabbing my clipboard with the results from Noah's testing and read through my carefully. I come across a statistic that will crush them both.

They don't deserve this. Baby Noah doesn't deserve this.

Finn's POV

It's been a few hours since Rachel gave birth to Noah and he was rushed away. We still haven't been updated on how he's doing or even why he was taken in the first place. But what I do know, is that I have to be strong for Rachel.

Ever since Noah left the room, Rachel has been constantly crying into my shirt.. I feel so helpless, I want to tell her he'll be okay but I don't know.

"Rachel..Finn..?" We both hear our regular nurse slowly walk into the room.

"How is he? What's happening?" Rachel blurts out, wiping her tear stained eyes with her hands.

I watch as Nurse Anderson walks towards the chair positioned next to the hospital bed.

"After running a few tests on him as soon as he was born, we identified that he was struggling to breath in a continuous pattern. However we put it down to him just being born. But then Noah stopped breathing for twenty seconds and began to go blue" Doctor Anderson explains.

My heart feels like it has shattered into a million pieces, my boy shouldn't have to go through this. I look down to see Rachel trying her best to hold back the tears that were forming in her eyes.

Doctor Anderson looks up to me and gives me a look which asks if she should carry on. I nod, eager to know what's happening to my son.

"Noah was rushed off to further examination as you know. He would stop breathing for longer than any human could survive from. After connecting him to a ventilator which will allow oxygen to travel through his body, Doctors have identified that Noah's lungs didn't fully develop with in the womb" Nurse Anderson continues.

"Will he be..okay?" I blurt out. Rachel hasn't said anything since Doctor Anderson started talking.

I watch as the Nurse takes a deep breath. She looks down at her clipboard which seems to have various notes on.

"Being born prematurely means that Noah didn't have the time to fully develop in Rachel's womb. Noah's lungs especially aren't as developed as the rest of his body. I'm sorry to say this..but..Noah only has a 45% chance of survival"

No, not my boy.

A/N; Poor Noah😢😢😢
