I could feel the light breeze brush across my face as we laid in the strangely colored blue grass and looked at the orange sky. I looked over at her watching her look up at the sky. I brushed her curly soft hair with my hand and moved the metallic silver strands out of her face. She looked over at me smiling while sitting up.

"What...?" She laughed looking slightly confused

I sat up also "Do you trust me?" I held her small hands into mine staring dead into her big silver colored eyes.

She nodded her head "Yea...I do" She said smiling while her eyes started to water.

A smile pulled at my face and I quickly pulled her small body into a hug. She let go and softly smiled.

"Just promise me you won't leave." She said looking straight into my eyes

"I. Promise." I said staring back at her.

She immediately pulled me into a hug and I willingly hugged back. Her warmth and energy gave me strength. Everytime I looked at her she made me smile. No matter how I felt. I hadn't notice the wet spot I left on her shirt. She pulled away and looked at me with concern.

"What's wrong Laurent?" She asked

I just shook my head 'no' and immediately pulled her back into a tight hug

" I no leave you.Never" I said

That memory replayed in my head over and over as I stared at the painted portrait of her on the wall. I was in slight shock that she hadn't changed a bit, well just her looks haven't. Just one thing that seems different about her is that she wasn't smiling like she always did when we were little. She had a smile that could light up the whole world if she wanted to, and it brightened up my day every time she did.

I sat on the black couch of my loft apartment and looked at the muted TV. I wasn't exactly watching it but I was just looking at the actor's facial expressions. That's a norm for me. I don't really need for the volume to be on in order for me to understand what's going on. I just read the body language and can tell what's happening. Plus, I just like the silence.

I'm still pissed about the emancipation being postponed. Like, why can't Sameer teach them. He knows how to control his powers just as well as I do. Plus, he's a guy. He can relate to them better than I can. It frustrates me, a lot. I'm pretty sure that they know how to use their powers anyways. They've been free and on their own for 10 whole freakin' years.

I just shook my head. Wells irritates the shit out of me. His whole being makes me itch. Every time he comes around anger flows through my veins. He always picked on me a lot too. It came to a point where I slapped him. Ever since then, he's been very careful about what he says to me. I don't trust him. Scratch that. I don't trust anybody. Never did and never will. That's me for ya.
My thoughts were rudely interrupted by my door swinging open. I didn't even bother to turn around because I knew exactly who it was, Sameer. I can feel him.

"What is it now?" I said irritated turning off the TV.

"They're here" he said sitting down next to me

"Okay...What ya'll want me to do? Throw a surprise party with confetti." I rolled my eyes and slammed the remote down on the coffee table.

"No...but we're having a special dinner for them at 6 o'clock and everyone has to be there. So you can't skip out. And don't make me drag you all the way there like last time either."

I laughed "Whatever. I'll be there." I smiled

"Now that's the smile I wanna see when we're at dinner. Go get dressed. It's semi-formal." he motioned for me to get up.

"Okay. I will. Bye" I said pushing him out of the door.

I looked at the clock, and I had about 45 minutes to get ready. Since I already took a shower, I went straight to my closet and searched for an appropriate dress, which there wasn't a lot of since I hardly wear dresses. But luckily I found a black lace skater dress and some black oxford flats. I really didn't feel like getting dressed at the moment, so I lounged around in my bra and boy shorts painting my nails black.

Once my nails dried, I decided that it was about time for me to start getting ready. I put on some mascara and gave myself cat eyes before throwing on my dress and shoes. Then, I heard a knock at my door. I double checked myself in the mirror before going downstairs and opening the door. It was Azalea and Kaori.

"You look cute." Azalea smiled complimenting me. She wore a hot pink strapless peplum dress that came to her mid thigh, black wedges, and lipstick to match. Kaori had on a white 2-piece form fitting sheath dress that came just above her knee, nude colored high heels, and deep red lipstick.

"Ya'll do too." I replied with a soft smile.

"So do you think that they're gonna be cute?" Kaori asked smirking.

I rolled my eyes "Girl please. Let's go." I walked out closing the door.

"Kaori, please behave." Azalea laughed walking into the elevator.

"I'm just saying." She crossed her arms "Taji is an arrogant asshole, and Sameer is Zi's boo thang" She said the last part with a smirk

"Please Shut the hell up." I said looking straight forward waiting for the doors to opened

"Why? Because you know It's true" Azalea added in grinning

I just rolled my eyes and walked out of the elevator headed to the private dining hall. I kept a gap between me and them. I was trying to keep myself calm and my mind clear. I don't want to repeat what happened the last time we had a 'special' dinner. I'm already agitated. I'm just trying to keep things from getting even worse. They were already pushing my buttons.

I walked into the dining area and it was just Taji, Sameer, and Dr. Philips. They smiled warmly as I took a seat next to 'Meer. Azalea and Kaori finally caught up and sat down next to Taji and Dr. Philips, who sat across from me and 'Meer.

"You look nice." 'Meer smiled

"Thanks, you do too."I looked up and saw Azalea and Kaori smirking at me.

"You alright?" He asked with concern in face voice

"Yea...just ready to get this over with" I huffed. He smiled and I returned.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps echoing down the hallway. Well, I guess it's time....
