*Ricks POV*
"Walkers!" Andrea shouted from the top of the RV. "Just the two?" I pulled out my python. "Yeah. I think I can get them from here." Andrea put her eye to the scope of the sniper. "No, we need to save our amo. We can handle this." Me, Tyler, Travis, Jess, T-Dog, and Glenn ran out into the field toward the walkers. I raised my gun as we got closer, I squinted my eyes. "Is that Daryl?"
"That's the third time you've pointed that thing at me, when ya gonna pull the trigger?" I gave a sigh of relief, as I put my gun down. Then a gun shot rang, Daryl's body collapsed to the ground. "Noo." I yelled back to Andrea. Just as I turned my focus back to Daryl, there was a small figure standing behind him. "Sofia.." When I said her name she didn't look up from Daryl's motionless body, I checked the rest of the group, they all stood there seeing what I was. "I'll get Sofia, you guys gotta get Daryl to Hershel." I was snapped back to reality, Daryl had just been shot. "Glenn." He scrambled over to me, helping me with Daryl. Jess picked up Sofia and ran back to the house. "What the hell happened out there?" T-Dog looked at Daryl. "He's wearing ears." I nodded my head. "Yeah...lets keep that to our self." I pulled the ear necklace off Daryl and shoved them in my pocket.
*Jess's POV*
I bolted out of the field, strainght to Carols tent. I stepped inside her tent. "Go away.." Carol was facing the other wall of the tent. "Mommy..!" Carol slowly turned around, she saw Sofia. She fell to her knees, hot tears began to roll down her cheek as she covered her mouth. "Sofia..is that really you." Sofia ran into her moms arms embracing her mom into a hug. "Not everyone's knows your back, wanna go day hi to everyone?" Sofia nodded her head but didn't leave her mom's bug. Carol looked at Sofia with wet eyes. "You must be starving." Carol took her daughters hand and walked up to the house. We walked into the house, everyone staring in shock. "Where's Carl?" Sofia's small voice asked. "How about we go eat, then you can see Carl, okay?" Carol asked smiling. "Okay."
I made my way up the stairs where Daryl was. Hershel was finishing, wrapping him up. "Is he gonna be alright?" I was leaning on the door frame watching Hershel. "Yeah, he's gonna be out for a while though. He's been through a lot." I nod my head in agreement. "Yeah he has.."
"Do you know what happened out there?" He asked me curiously. "He found Sofia!" I couldn't help but smile. His eyes opened wide. "Well is she here now? I'd like to meet her!"
"Yeah, she in the kitchen eating.. She must be starving." Hershel left the room, leaving me with a sleeping Daryl. I wanted to thank him for finding her, for not giving up. I sat in a chair on the side of the bed waiting for him to wake up.
I must have fallen asleep because I was awoken by Maggie. "Hey. I saved you a plate." I rubbed my eyes and sat up in the chair. "Okay thanks, I'll be down in a second." She nodded and walked out of the room. I stood up and stretched my arms and legs. I yawed, then proceeded down stairs. I dragged myself into the kitchen to grab my plate, I slowly ate my food. When I was done, I put my plate in the sink. "Is there any left for Daryl?"
"Yeah of course, I'll make him a plate." Beth smiled sweetly. "Thanks Beth." She quickly made Daryl a plate and handed it to me. I made my way back up stairs, I sat his food on the side table by the bed, that way if he wakes up he'll have something to eat. I gave a last look at Daryl and left the room, heading to bed.
As soon as I awoke the next morning, I went straight to Daryl's room. When I got to the house I was greeted by Carol and Sofia. "Hey, how you holding up?" Sofia smiled big at me "I'm good.". I just noticed how scronny she had gotten. Carol also had a uncontrollable smile that would probably never fade. And with them smiling, I couldn't help but smile. "Well, I'm gonna see if Daryl's awake."
"If he is can you come get me? I want to thank him, even thought I can never repay him." Carol asked. "Of course I will." With that I made my way to Daryl's room. I cracked the door, seeing if he was awake. But..of course he wasn't. I stepped in the room, I noticed the plate I left last night was empty. He must have woken up last night and eaten it.
