*Jess's POV*

I wake up and the sun is just barley up. I look over to Daryl who is still sleeping. I lay back down and listen. I can hear a few birds chirping and Daryl's light snoring, yet somehow I find his snoring is sort of soothing.

I sit back up not knowing what else I could do, I wasn't tired anymore, just bored. I start going through my bag and I hear a voice that startles me. "Wha' are ya' doin'?" I hear a sleepy Daryl ask from behind me.

"Wouldn't you like to know," I say looking over my shoulder, smiling at him. "Okay, fine. Tell me why yer so happy then," He narrows his eyes in confusion. I laugh at him. "Not sure," I answer. "Just in a good mood this morning I guess."

After that me and and Daryl just make conversation. We sat there laughing at each others stories for a good hour.

"You know what I think?" I ask Daryl while tilting my head. "No, What do ya' think?" He asks interested.

"I think there's a side of you..that there's a side of Daryl Dixon that you hide," I look up at him and smile. "I think your 'tough guy appearance' is your outter shell. That theres more to you.." I lean in closer and whisper, "..that you won't show us."

"Is that what you think?" he asks me.

"Yeah..it is."

"I think yer wrong," He responds. "Really?" I lean in whisper again, narrowing my eyes with a slight grin.

"Hey Daryl, can you come here for a minute?" Rick calls from outside. "Yeah, sure," He smirks at me.

As he begins walking out of our tent I shout, "Hey." He turns and looks at me. "Don't think your getting out of this conversation Daryl Dixon," I smirk at him. He smiles and shakes his head as he leaves the tent.

After Daryl leaves the tent, I get dressed and grab my sword and knife.
When I get outside I am once again greeted by Carol handing me a plate of food. I see Travis talking to Stephanie over by their tents, so I decide to go talk to them.

"What's up," I tap Travis on the back. He turns around, "I was just about to come see if you were okay," He says smiling at me. "Why wouldn't I be?" I ask slowly.

"Um..I don't know you, share a tent with Daryl," He responds in annoyance, like I should have already known. "What, you don't trust him?" I was beginning to get mad. "No, I don't. What you do?" He asks raising his voice.

"Yeah, I do," I yell back at him, before walking into the woods to cool down. I don't know why Daryl suddenly became a touchy subject, I just felt the need to defend him. Daryl has proven to me that he's not like his brother, so why does everyone else look at him like he is?

*Daryl's POV*

Rick had asked me to check the snares in the woods, so that's what I was doin'. Then I hear Jess and Travis in an argument.

"What, you don't trust him?" Jess shouts at Travis with anger clear in her voice. "No, I don't. What you do?" Travis shouts back at her.

I get nervous that she's going to also say 'no' but find myself surprised when she says, "Yeah, I do."

I see her storm off so I figure I'll go talk to her. I follow her into a different part of the woods. Then I accidently step on a stick when I glanced up and it snapped.

She pulls out her sword and she turns around, the tip of her swords blade centimeters from my face.

She lets out a breath, "You scared the shit out of me." She backs up, putting her sword back. "Sorry," I look up at her, then back down at the ground. "Came out here ta' see if ya' were alright.."
