*Daryl's POV*

I look at the new girl, Jess. She was real slim, had hazel eyes, with blondish to dirty blonde hair. There was something different about her, she was tough, she was..

Glenn clears his throat. Me and Jess quickly turn away from each other and give our attention over to Glenn.

"What now?" He asks.

"I say we get the guns and head back," Rick suggests. "Hell no," I shout at him. "I say we grab the guns then look for Merle some more," Jess said stepping in. "I don't know," Rick said looking unsure, scratching the back of his neck. "What would you do if this was your brother, Rick?" Jess questioned looking into his eyes.

I look at her, giving her a nod and she returns it. "What do you think Glenn?" Rick turns around, looking at Glenn for answers. "I think Jess is right, if this was my brother walking around without a hand, I would want to look for him to," Glenn stated, agreeing with me and Jess. That's three against one.

"Alright then it's settled," he scans over all of us. "We'll look for Merle some more after we go get the guns," Rick tells us as he walks toward the door

*Jess's POV*

Glenn starts explaining his plan to get the guns. "Okay. So me, Daryl, and Jess will go over here by the guns. T-dog and Rick you'll be over here."

"Two blocks away..Why?" Rick asks as Glenn was explaining his plan to us.

"Because the guns are here, and if I get cut off and can't get back the same way I came, I'll come over to you guys, and we'll all meet up over here." Glenn explains while pointing at the map he made out of chalk on the pavement.

"Hey Glenn, what were you before all this," I asked curiously. "A pizza delivery guy, why? He answered confused.

I look at Rick who nodded his head a couple times as a 'That make sense' kind of look. Then I look over at Daryl who does the same thing. I look back at Glenn. "Just wondering," I giggle.

*Daryl's POV*

We were all in our positions. Glenn looked over his shoulder at me and Jess then nods his head before taking off running.

We were both standing here awkwardly, saying nothing.

"Uh, thanks... you know for saying we should keep looking for Merle," I say awkwardly while rubbing the back of my head. "If it were my brother I would want to keep looking," She's shrugs at me, looking me in the eyes. I quickly look down to avoid eye contact for to long. "Yeah, bu' he ain't yer brother," I say back to her.

"But if it was--" She starts to say, but was interrupted by Glenn running around the fence, practically tripping over himself.

We had no luck finding Merle. We were out there looking for him for about another two hours. When we got back I grabbed a plate of squirrel and went to my tent. I couldn't keep ma' mind off the new girl. There was something about her. My thoughts were interrupted when someone comes in the tent. "Uh, hey sorry I just uh, came in here to get a sweater," Jess says half awkwardly.

"The hells ur stuff doin' in here anyway?" I ask her, just now realizing half of the tent had her stuff in it.

"We uh, we share the tent," She tells me, meeting my eyes then breaking contact. "The hell you mean we share the tent? This is my tent." I state angrily. "Yeah...well now it's our tent," She says slightly irritated.

*Jess's POV*

Everyone besides the kids, Daryl, and Ed sat around the fire. I sat down between Stephanie and Shane. I have kind of warmed up to Shane, he's not as bad as I thought. Travis sat across from me, next to T-dog and Carol.

As I got even more tired, I start to to doze off and my head began to bob. So, I rest my head on Shane's shoulder. Right when I was about to fall asleep I hear a scuff, I open my eyes to see Daryl pick something up. I notice that he is eyeing me and Shane, but I don't really think anything of it.

I had fallen asleep on Shane's shoulder for about an hour. I am awoken when the sound of Rick putting out the fire startles me.

I just get to my tent and I'm so tired that when I sit down and I don't even realize Daryl was still sitting next to me, also awake.

"So you and Shane, huh?" His voice makes me jump. "I don't know," I respond. I didn't have feelings for Shane or anything, he's just someone.. "What's it matter to you anyway?" I ask Daryl while looking up at him.

"It don't..just didnt exspect ya' to pick a person like that.." He said trailing off, keeping his focus on the tents floor. "What do you mean by that?" I question him. "Well, if ya' haven't noticed he's kind a douche bag," He answers while spinning a arrow in his hand.

I chuckled when he says that.

"Sorry if that's offensive, but I've known him a lot longer than you.. And it's the truth."

"Yeah, he can be a douche, can't he?" I say through a smile.

"If he pisses ya' off or somethin'..let me' know. I've always kinda wanted to hit him," He said kind of serious.

I laugh at that. "I will," I answer him, before going to bed.
