Francine and Wolf were taken to the medical post along with the other survivors for checkup. Everyone was there, looking nervous. Dr. Steel came in and said: 'Okay listen up, people. This is really simple. We are just gonna do a little checkup on you.'
'So, don't worry. We will look at you first, Captain.'
When the doctors looked at him they saw that Wolf had a large scar on his left. 'Where did you get that?' They asked.
'During the fight, one of those grabbed me by the leg with his claws. But I'm doing fine.'
'I'm not so sure, Captain. We better take a good look at that, so please follow me. Mrs. Smith, you can come in.' Jake said.
She stood up and walked in.
'Okay, don't worry we just want to check your body for possible injuries.'
Francine took her jacket off and the doctors checked her. Despite having some small injuries, she had nothing. After a while, Steel said.
'You seem to be okay, you can leave now.'
'Not yet, I want to know where Malcolm is! Is he okay?' Jake looked nervous and said.
'Oh, you mean him. I'm sorry to say this but he is not so well, when we tried to treat the injuries he almost died from cardiac arrest.' When Francine heard this the tears came back.
'No, that can't be. Where is he?!'
'We had taken him for an X-ray, we found that his ribs are broke and likely will require surgery to fix up however his skin is too burned and fragile to be opened so we'll have to wait. But another problem is that he is a coma and is on the intensive care.'
'Take me to him, NOW!'
'I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't do that. He has to be kept isolated, at least for a while. We have to make sure he has no infections.'
'Please, I just wanna be sure! Can't you take me to him, like I can see him from outside of the isolation?' She asked.
'I'll see what I can do for you, Miss. But for now, go take some rest, you need it. The captain had arranged a sleeping place for all of you, it's better you go now.'
'Where is my room?' She asked.
'I will ask if someone can take you to it, I promise I will talk with my team and then I will inform you,' Jake said.
'Thank you, I just want to go now.' Jake pointed to the nurse.
'Louise, will you escort Mrs. Smith to her suite, please?'
'No, problem,' She said. Francine left the medical room and followed the nurse down the hallway to the elevator. Francine didn't say anything on the way. After a short time, they stopped at the fourth floor and they walked on. Eventually they came out in an area with a few doors.
'Here we are, your room should be here. The workers here will give you a key.'
'Thank you.' Francine said. At that moment someone else came up while the nurse left.
'You must be one the people that got those rooms, right?' Yes. Francine said. 'Can I have your name, please?' The man asked. 'Francine Smith.' The man checked a notebook he had in his hand. 'Yes, it seems alright. Here are the keys, it's room 3b. You will have everything you need and the showers are on the other side of the block.
'Thank you, mister,' She said. She walked into her new room. It was pretty much like the one on Mayfield station but a bit smaller. There was a bed, a closet and window to the outside to see the eternal of space. Francine felt not like doing anything, so see took off her clothes and just dropped in bed.
