I flew back to the UK the next day and drove to my new home, I was so excited to finally start unpacking and hopefully I would be staying at the house for a while. I never really talked about my future, I was torn between focusing on my career or starting a family, even though I was in a relationship I never really thought about my future with Lando.
I opened my front door to see all of my stuff dumped in the long living room and dining area.
I started by moving my mattress near to where the ladder was for the loft was. I then started unpacking the kitchen boxes with all my plates and mugs, luckily none of it was damaged and I found a special place for my shot glasses, there was a shelf in the corner that was too small for anything but shot glasses, I put them on there and I added my gin fish bowl glasses as well.
I finished unpacking the boxes at around 8pm and it was time to start moving the big stuff. I moved my massive sofa on to the wall I wanted it on and I positioned my TV and the chest of drawers that it was on on the opposite wall.
I went to the bathroom and unpacked everything and re built my little trolley with all my stuff in it.
It took me an hour to get my mattress up in to the loft, it was a massive struggle but I did it and I decided to build my bed frame whilst I was there. I then pinned my tapestries up and it was starting to come together.
I fell asleep on the sofa downstairs and I woke up in the middle of the day. I had months until my next race so I had time to paint and renovate my new house.
I spent the next few days coming up with a plan for how I wanted to decorate it, I wanted each room to be different colours but I wanted it to flow and have a theme. I could do different greens or blues maybe both.
I was planning this whilst leaning on a cardboard box when my phone buzzed in my pocket.
'Hi Izzie, I know we haven't spoken in ages but I saw you in Vogue France!!! Girl you looked stunning'
The message was from Harley, I did kind of regret not getting to know her but the circumstances were a bit difficult then.
'Thank you sweet!! I haven't really seen the pictures, it was such a long time ago'
'You looked unbelievable, are you and Lando okay?'
'Yeh we are good I am sorting out my new home so I haven't had chance to see him really'
'I'm glad, we really need to go karting, I felt awful that I couldn't do it last time'
'When you are next over here we will do it and I will make you as good as me'
'Thank you'
I put my phone back in my pocket and decided on a design I liked so I drove down to B&Q to buy the paint and all the things I would need to do it.
I got back and put my music on and started painting my living room a really pale shade of green to make the room feel bigger as well as bring in some more light. I managed to finish the living room before midnight.
I spent the next month or so decorating by myself and training to stay fit, it was the summer break for the F1 season and I had just finished making my garden all nice.
I invited most of the drivers as well as their wives and partners, children as well. Some of them had other plans which was understandable but Mick, Daniel, Max and Kelly, Charles and Charlotte, Pierre, Lando, George and Carmon, Carlos and Alex would come to my party.
The group chat wouldn't stop buzzing, with everyone being in different time zones it was slightly difficult but I made sure everyone knew that the party was next Tuesday.
