Racing through the entrance of St. Clair's hospital Liam was engulfed with the unmistakable scents of antiseptic, sickness, death and overused cleaning chemicals which were all accompanied with the wailing sounds of people losing or possibly saving a life. Trying to ignore it all he fired questions at the clerk upon arrival.
"Where are Damian and Grayson?"
"Are they okay?"
"What room are they in?"
"Do you know what happened?"
"Sir I need you to calm down."
"Don't tell me to calm down just answer my questions!" he yelled as he banged his fists against the desk.
"Liam Smith?" a nurse called.
"Yes that's me." he said turning swiftly towards the new voice.
"Come with me please."
"Do you know where they are? Do you know if they're okay? I just need answers, please."
"Yes, but I need you to calm down for a bit, okay? I'm taking you to them now."
"Okay, okay. Thank you." he said nodding quickly as he tried to steady his breathing.
"Are you better?"
"Yes, thanks."
"Okay." She replied as they began their walk down.
Before they can get far however someone called out, "Mom!"
Turning he saw a girl running towards them; incoherent words spewing from her lips.
"Sweetie, you need to breathe. Inhale, exhale; there you go."
Getting a good look at her Liam's heart immediately spiked; it was her.
"Alexis?"
"Liam? Is-is he okay?" she stuttered before clearing her throat.
Interrupting their staring contest her mom spoke, "Damian's doing well. He's responding to the antibiotics; that's a good sign. We've managed to stop the bleeding, thankfully the cut wasn't deep. His body is cooperating and has already started the healing process. He should be okay in no time."
"Do you know what happened?"
"Liam!" Grayson yelled running towards the group of three.
"We were just messing around at the park and he fell on a broken glass; and now has a cut on his left arm. Y'all can go see him."
Walking into the room Liam, Alexis and Grayson spotted Damian hanging off the side of his bed.
"Damian!"
"Liam! I got a boo-boo." He said frowning.
"Come here big guy." Liam said as he raised Damian upright and hugged him.
Smiling Alexis and Grayson joined them.
