The party

_____

"Hey Liam, you're going to that party tonight right?" His best friend, Grayson asked, clapping him on the back in the process.

"Is that even a question? You know I'm always at the parties."

"Get 'em boy!" His other best friend, Damian said - causing Grayson and Liam to shake their heads.

Damian has always been the bold outgoing one of the group of three. He doesn't sleep around like everyone says but is definitely the one to talk about the girls openly.

Grayson is the observant one. He's not as quiet as he's deemed to be. He's actually very loud and playful but only around his close friends.

Liam, the main person of this trio; the 'bad boy'. The one who is supposedly a gang leader, involved with drugs and one of the top players around. He's the kind of guy every girl's dad or brother and even a friend at times warn them about.

That's the guy he's seen as - because of silly, ridiculous rumors that everyone believed.

In reality he's probably the sweetest guy you'll ever meet. He's really protective of his family and friends. He doesn't smoke nor does he drink and he definitely doesn't agree with using a girl for your own wants and pleasures.

He's against everything that they said he was. He's against it all. But that doesn't change the way he was treated.

It's sad but true.

-----

"So what time are we going for this time?" Grayson asked.

"At half eight," Damian said.

"Yeah sure, what time is it?" Liam asked shrugging.

"It's time for you to get dressed. We'll be waiting downstairs."

"Hurry up man!"

"It is quarter past and it will take at least fifteen minutes to get there." Damian and Grayson said respectively.

Groaning Liam got off his bed walking towards his bathroom. After freshening up he grabbed a washed out black jeans and a white t-shirt before pulling on his black converse. Quickly grabbing his phone and some cash he left his room closing the door behind him.

-----

Upon arriving at the party the trio split up immediately. Grayson and Damian went inside to talk to the girls more Damian than Grayson however, while Liam made his way to the backyard through the side gate. Entering the backyard Liam saw a tiny figure hunched over picking at the grass. Walking closer Liam realized it was a girl with her black hair covering most of her face. Liam made a rash decision and sat down beside her, immediately noticing her body tensed.

Taking a deep breath he said, "Hi."

"Hey." She whispered as she paused her previous action.

"What are you doing out here? The party's inside." He asked before wondering if she thought he was a creep or if she knew who he was to begin with.

"Why are you out here?" She asked raising her head to look at him; something flashing in her eyes as she saw his face.

"Didn't feel like going in." He said with a shrug.

"Hmmm. Well I just needed fresh air for a bit." She said turning away from him completely as if shielding herself from him.

"Are you alright?" He asked slightly hoping that maybe just maybe she didn't turn away because she recognized him but sadly she did.

"I-I was just thinking about something I shouldn't be thinking of..." She said laughing nervously but continued, "but I'm thinking of it anyway."

"What's that? What are you thinking of?" He whispered trying to meet her eyes but failing as she stared at the grass beneath their feet.

Blushing a deep red she said, "I'm thinking of what it'll be like to kiss you."

Inhaling deeply he took a risk he doesn't usually take because he was certain now that she was at least tipsy if not drunk and he would like it if she remembered they first proper meeting.

"Will you like to go on a date with me?"

With abated breaths he waited for her response.

"I-I have to go." She said quickly standing up and running inside.

Running inside Liam scouted for her but was unable to find her. Bumping into someone he mumbled a quick apology before looking at the person.

It was her.

Although he didn't see her face clearly before, he just knew it was her.

At least he thought it was her...

"Hey, what's wrong? Why did you leave?"

"Umm I have a curfew and I'm already late. Call me?" She said while writing something on his forearm before once again running away.

Shaking his head he walked out into the backyard before walking towards the gate hoping to see her before she leaves.

The moment he stepped out front however, he was unable to breathe.

He saw her black wavy hair swishing behind her as she made her way towards a black car. Turning back every so often allowing him to get a good view of her body which was quite fit - as he saw her really toned thighs and legs in the black shorts she wore which was complimented by an oversized grey hoodie.

"Damn. She's beautiful." Liam whispered biting his lip a little - a habit of his when deep in thought.

-----

As he laid in bed that night Liam replayed everything over and over and was a tad bit confused about something.

The girl he spoke to in the backyard, the one who gave him her number - at least he thought it was the same person - wasn't wearing what the girl he saw out front wearing. Yes, they had similar hair color but that was about it.

Maybe she changed her clothes before leaving.

No. He didn't think so. The girl out front was a lot shorter.

Who did I talk to?

Was it both of them?

Or just one of them?

Those were the questions on Liam's mind as he fell asleep.
