Marco POV
After finding out that she's going to public school I told my parents I would too. I need to beat her no matter what! And that meant going to the same school.
I've done whatever I could to beat her. But it didn't work as well as I had planned. I studied hard, was always fit (because of swimming) and yet she always got first!
Because of her complicated aura and her way of "socializing" (which is barely socializing at all) our town gave her the name of Iron Daughter. But she's always quiet and plain that people forget that she's even there...
But I never did
"I heard Marco's dad used to come here and play piano for us when he was the judge for the talent show last year." "Omg that was his dad?? He's so handsome too..." "Rich, Handsome, Smart! Ah~ he's so perfect!"
"Achoo! Ahhh someone's talking about me again." I said with a smirk on my face. The boys groaned, complaining about how egoistic I am. And how I kept stealing the girls away not letting them have a chance.
We went out of class to see the exam scores and class standing of the whole grade.
"Marco!! You got second place again!" Flinching when they said again. "That's great! You're so smart!!" The girls in our middle school crowded around me.
"Thanks!" I said a bit glumly. They must have caught on to the gloominess of my voice because they tried to cheer me up. The guys looked at me while glaring at how much attention I got from the girls. I smirked at them making their annoyance grow bigger.
I wen back to the class and saw the same group of guys.
"How come you get all the girls Marco?! They're always flocking around you! I just don't get it." One of them bravely came up to me. I thought about so many ways to describe myself until this one thought came.
I don't really care if you're the son of whoever and the heir to some big company. That only shows the successes of your parents. It doesn't mean that you are excellent as well.
Her voice echoed in my head making me flinch. It made me get into a bad mood and so I looked at him straight in the eye as I told him.
"The only reason they really like me is for my looks. And that my parents are famous or rich as hell. I don't really have an interest in them because they don't know who I really am and may not ever know."
They flinched at the tone of my voice as I left them there. I heard a low whistle as I walked to my seat.
I didn't really care. I still wasn't able to beat her. She was the only one on my mind. The only thing I need to think about is beating her. And her alone.
