Date?

As Wren and I ate our lunch I finally asked her when we could start our little tutoring. "Hm.. Maybe next week if you want? I am pretty busy this week so if it's okay?" I nodded in agreement.

"Hey Wren? I think it's better if I knew your contact number for this... Do you have a cellphone maybe?" Wren shook her head saying a faint no. "Hah? Why do you not have one?" I asked her a bit worriedly. Does she not know how important a cellphone is?

"Well Mom told me to get a cell before but I don't think it's necessary.. We do have a landline so it's fi-"

"Stupid! You should know how dumb that is! You, living in a single-parent family, it's risky to just use a landline! What happens if something goes wrong?" I cut her off. What the hell was she thinking? Does she not know how dangerous it is to not have a cellphone?

She looked at me wide-eyed as I sighed. Although she is mature she is pretty dumb. "You know what? Let's go buy you a cellphone this Saturday." "Wait what?" I shook my head. "No you will listen to me Wren. We are buying that cell whether you like it or not. Now before that happens tell your mom. I'll see you at your house at 10am."

Her mouth opened, as if she was going to say something, but it never came out. She closed her mouth and sighed in defeat. "I'll see you at my house, this Saturday 10am. Don't be late." The bell rang and she packed her lunch before leaving me at the table.

Wait.. Now that I think about it. It sounds like a date! Yes! I was finally able to start the plan. Well..

I just have to see this Saturday.
