Day #2 of careers week

According to Ben, today is supposed to be way more exciting than yesterday. I don't get how that's possible but I can't wait. I think careers week is the best idea the school has ever had. It's made me want to become a doctor even more now.

Anyway, we followed the same routine as yesterday, Ben woke me up, helped me get ready, Aiden did my hair, kicked me out because he's a moody Margaret, we all ate breakfast, I became impatient and made Ben leave earlier than needed. So that takes us up to the car ride right now.

The traffic in the morning, especially at this time, is always so horrible. It's worse than usual New York traffic. There's all these parents dropping off their kids to school or going to work or all these other teenagers picking up their friends. Do they not realise we have somewhere extremely important to be? Gosh.

"What's got you rolling you eyes you little monster?" Ben asked as he looked at me through the rear view mirror.

"New York traffic." I huffed.

"How much longer?! You said today's going to be more interesting than yesterday was!" I whined impatiently.

"I know honey but you have to be a little more patient. We'll be there in no time. And if it wasn't for you, then we would've left later and been even more stuck." He said with a smile.

"Why do you have to be so patient Benjamin?" I asked as I glared at him.

"Because I'm the best." He said smugly.

"That's impossible I am." I said as I crossed my arms.

"No me."

"No me."

"Me!"

"Me!"

"Me me me me me me me me me me me-"

"Okay okay fine! You! Cheeky girl." He said as he rolled his eyes at my smirk.

He might have taken my mind off of the traffic for a bit but when I looked back out the window I realised we were still parked next to same red car outside the same costume shop.

"Ben we haven't moved." I said with a frown.

"Hmmm. I'm going to get out of the car and get a better view of what's going on. Surely there must be something that's making the traffic so horrible." He said as he unbuckled his seatbelt.

"Nooo wait! Don't leave me alone."'I said panicked. What if he just gets out and someone grabs me through the window?!

"Nothing will happen honey I'm just going to look from here okay?" He said as I gave him an anxious nod.

He got out of the car and left the door open as he still stood next to his seat and looked over at what happened.

"No wonder!" He exclaimed as he immediately got his phone out and started typing.

"What happened?" I asked worriedly.

"There's been an accident up ahead. Were not too far from the hospital so someone can run here to look after you while I help." He quickly replied.

"No one responding!" He said worriedly.

"Ben we need to help all those people." I said as I unblocked my seat belt and leaned over the middle console.

"We will. Don't worry honey." He said with a not so convincing smile. I knew I was the one holding him back from running over there and saving all those people.

"Why don't you take me with you? You can leave me with a police officer and then call one of the babies to get your car and bring it back to the hospital." I suggested.
