"...Carmen Tibideaux!" the madam beamed, waving her hands enthusiastically as she stared at her students who were occupying the seats in the McKinley auditorium.
There was a mix of emotions following the announcement: The Carmen Tibideaux was going to be part of the audience as a scout for NYADA.
Rachel was smiling, Santana, Quinn and Brittany were talking about the ballet program there, Mike wasn't too interested as he had no intention of going to NYADA which was annoying Tina as he hadn't told her where he was going so she was sat scowling at him from her chair which was two spaces away while Sam and Mercedes tried to figure who the hell was coming and Kurt and Blaine both felt excited and, Kurt, worried.
"Settle down! Now, I know this is exciting and probably got some of you on edge, but I want you all to not panic and just focus on the show" the madam informed them, doing her best to keep everyone calm after seeing the mixed facial expressions of her students, "Now, the show will start later today so practice what you need to but also make sure you get enough rest, food and keep yourselves hydrated!" she told them as she clapped her hands, signalling to them they could leave before she exited backstage.
Everyone slowly made their way out of the auditorium, some heading to the academy to practice while others went off for breaks. Once everyone else had departed the room, the group from McKinley began getting ready however, as they all stood Blaine looked down to his side and saw that Kurt was still sat down.
"Kurt? You coming?" Blaine questioned.
"No.. I think I'm gonna practice here" Kurt replied, his gaze fixed on the stage.
"Kurt?" Blaine questioned again, "Are you okay?".
"Yeah, I'm fine" Kurt replied almost instantly as he looked up at Blaine with a forced smile that he saw right through.
"Are you guys coming or what?" Santana asked as she looked over at the gloomy pair.
"You guys go ahead, we'll catch up" Blaine said giving them a firm nod and his charming smile.
"If you say so..." Santana said, confused as to their behaviour but shrugging it off as she grabbed her girlfriend's hand and left the auditorium with the others, all of them heading to the choir room so they wouldn't be bothered while they practiced or rested.
Blaine watched them leave and as soon as the double doors swung shut with a loud 'bang' he turned his attention back to his boyfriend who had turned his attention back to the stage. Blaine, smiled softly at him before sitting next to him and placing a comforting hand on his left knee, squeezing it gently to get his attention. Kurt looked over at Blaine and sighed before smiling softly and leaning into him, ignoring the plastic armchair that was digging into his side as leaned his head on Blaine's shoulder who, in return, rested his head on Kurt's.
The pair sat in a comfortable silence for about ten minutes, the only sounds being their gentle breathing and Kurt's defeated sighs. Blaine hummed contently into Kurt's hair, kissing it softly before pulling away and moving Kurt to look at him. He leaned in and kissed Kurt who reciprocated the action without hesitation. The kiss wasn't passionate and didn't last long, however, in that moment, it was perfect. They smiled into the kiss before simultaneously moving away and letting out breathy laughs. Not wanting to move away, but getting sick of the arm however, Kurt got up from his seat and, to Blaine's surprise, lightly sat on his boyfriend's lap, his legs tucked up and his feet resting on the empty chair next to them as he curled into Blaine's body, wrapping one arm around his neck as the other rested flat on Blaine's chest, rising and falling with his steady breaths. Blaine smiled down at Kurt who was looking up at him, just staring at his face.
