"NEW DIRECTIONS!! WHO'S READY TO DANCE!?" she yelled enthusiastically as she spread her arms out, all of the students clapping and cheering as they yelled words of agreement.

Blaine looked around, mildly amused by everyone's response, and laughing slightly with everyone now understanding the expressions that the older students had worn. When everyone had quietened down a bit, she pulled out a letter from her back pocket and waved it happily in the air eliciting another round of applause and cheers.

"In my hand I have our competition" she exclaimed, putting air quotes on the last word, a few of the students whistled and laughed.

"Do you wanna know who they are?" she asked, everyone replied with a loud and clear 'YES!!' causing her to giggle before asking again, "I said, DO YOU WANNA KNOW WHO THEY ARE!?" at this everyone cheered louder.

"Drum roll please!!" shs yelled over the noise of the room, and as soon as it was requested, everyone started hitting their hands or feet on the floor causing a sound like thunder to roar through the hall.

"From Carmel High of the Arts: Adrenaline!" she read out, earning a boo at the name and this continued as she read down the list, "Dance Explosion, Movement Intensity, The Unitards, The Trouble Toes" she listed off, each name receiving a chorus of boos and/or laughter at the name.

Blaine quickly joined in with his team jokingly although he realised that Kurt didn't really react like the others, he was sat with his head resting on Blaine's shoulder, but his knees pulled up tight to his chest, arms wrapped round them as he gently nibbled on his thumb nail, looking almost worried.

"And finally, from Waterville, The Warblers!" she finished, at this the chorus of groans and dismay were louder and some, angrier (Rachel being one of them as the others tried to hold back laughter at the look on her face).

"I know I know, I don't particularly like them either but, they are our number one team to beat!" she admitted after the group had quietened from the roar of noise to a dull whisper.

When the name was called, Kurt almost froze, his eyes fixed on his nail that he was biting. Blaine instantly felt the weight of Kurt change as he lifted his head from Blaine's shoulder unknowingly, allowing Blaine to see him and watch as he closed his eyes and let out an almost pained sigh.

"Kurt.. are you okay?" Blaine whispered so that only Kurt could hear, not wanting the others to listen or to interrupt the madam as she explained dates, times, locations, and fees.

"I..." Kurt began, opening his eyes before letting out another sigh, "Y-Yeah..." he said, changing his initial response and giving his boyfriend a weak smile before kissing his cheek gently and turning back to the front, his head laying on Blaine's shoulder again.

Blaine knew this wasn't true, there was something up with Kurt and the Warblers but, he didn't wanna push him and definitely not in a crowded room of his peers and friends. After about an hour of her talking and the students sitting on the uncomfortable wooden floor, the dances had been decided, at least one duet, solo and group number for each category. After this, the students were released to get warmed up. Blaine dragged a dazed and slightly reluctant Kurt to his feet and pulled him over to the front, to grab a copy of the set list, by his hand, laughing as he pulled a face and groaned in protest before giggling too.

Once they had picked one up, they read it, Kurt looking over Blaine's shoulder and smiling when he saw his boyfriends name.

"I.. how did I get a solo? I only joined this season..." Blaine muttered in disbelief as he read his name over and over again but, there was no denying it, he definitely had a solo.

"Because unlike at your old academy, we recognise pure talent" Kurt replied, his breathe tickling the nape of Blaine's neck before a soft kiss was placed there causing the smaller boy to blush.

"Well clearly, I see you have a solo" Blaine replied, trying to change the subject and focus on something other than the feeling of Kurt's hands hugging his waist as his body was pulled against his.

Kurt hummed slightly however, not as if he were agreeing with Blaine but, before he could ask there was a shout form the other side of the room "Blaine get over here, we need to run over some ideas for your solo!" Kyle, the street teacher, called as he waved Blaine over.

"And so, it begins..." Kurt sighed, a smile gracing his lips. Blaine turned to face him.

"I'm sorry, what begins?" Blaine chucked with his, almost comically shaped, eyebrows raised.

"Practice. Practice. Practice" Kurt replied, dotting each word with a kiss - one to his left cheek, one to his right and the last to his lips which lasted a bit longer before another yell for Blaine broke them apart.

The pair giggled as they released one another with cheeky grins, whispering flirtatious comments to one another before walking to their perspective group and/or teacher to begin working.

Things were about to get a lot busier...
