(MORRIBLE is sitting on a throne. IDINA and KRISTIN are standing nearby)
MORRIBLE
It's so lovely of you to join me this morning. I have something delightful to show you.
(to SOLDIERS)
Bring me Elphaba!
(SOLDIERS exit and re emerge a moment later dragging ELPHABA)
IDINA
What did you do to her? Why is she not fighting back?
MORRIBLE
My delightful servant transferred all of her powers to me. It's a very draining process. She probably won't survive it, which makes my life so much easier.
KRISTIN
And where did you put Glinda?
MORRIBLE
Oh, she's right here.
(GLINDA and BOQ emerge from behind the throne. GLINDA'S eyes are glazed over)
MORRIBLE
(continued)
Such a lovely little traitor. I think i'll keep her.
KRISTIN
Glinda would never do that!
GLINDA
(monotone and slow)
Yes I would. And I did. You are all on the wrong side. This side has protection and safety. By the time Madame Morrible is done, you will all be dead.
IDINA
You did something to her. Did you brainwash her? Or is it a spell?
KRISTIN
It's a spell. You can tell from her eyes. That's how you can always tell if someone's being magically controlled.
(IDINA looks at her)
What? I'm a Harry Potter fan.
GLINDA
(still monotone and slow)
I am not under a spell. I have just realized that I have been on the wrong side.
MORRIBLE
Shut up.
GLINDA
Yes Madame Morrible.
MORRIBLE
Glinda isn't the point. The point is that I have magic now. And now I'll have hers too.
