(ELPHABA is pacing in the hallway. GLINDA and IDINA are trying to calm her down)
ELPHABA
I don't know if I can do this. I don't know the first thing about ruling.
GLINDA
Oh hush. You'll be fine.
ELPHABA
What if I'm not? If I make one mistake or one wrong decision, people could get hurt!
IDINA
It's not like you're leading your people into a war.
ELPHABA
But I might have to someday.
IDINA
Don't think about someday. Just think about now. You can't spend your whole life worrying about the future. Like when I got my first role in a movie, I didn't spend the whole time worrying about whether or not I'd ever get another part. I just enjoyed the process. And now I'm a movie star!
ELPHABA
I'm pretending I know what a movie star is.
IDINA
Never mind that. Just remember what I said. And actually what you said. You're the one who taught me that.
ELPHABA
I'll try.
(a horn sounds)
IDINA
It's time! Go for it!
ELPHABA
(heading toward balcony)
