The Boy Next Door

Welcome Back

MADISON'S P.O.V.

"Hey guys!!! Oh are those my new grand babies?!? Wait, you two said that you were only have a baby boy..." Ms. Mahone trails off, like she thinks we did something wrong.

"Nope. The doctor said that we would have a surprise coming our way, we just didn't know what it was. That was until Maddie started going back into labor after she had already given birth to the baby boy."

"That's a nice story." A voice said from the corner of the room.

When the person steps out, my heart stops. How? Why? What is she doing here?!?

I'm no longer shocked. Actually, I'm pretty friggin' angry right now. But I swallow my pride and strighten my back.

"Glad you could make it Sherlyn." Ms.Mahone gasps at my rudness to my mother. Austin stiffens.

My mom just chuckles. "C'mon Maddie! Why can't we just let it go? You only caught me doing it one time." I look at my mother with hate in my eyes.

"Cake anyone?" Says Ms.Mahone, trying to break the sudden tension that envaded the room.

"Cake sounds nice,but my stomach hurts to much to eat right now... sorry to spoil all the fun." Handing the kids to Austin and Ms.Mahone, I head upstairs.

After I open the door, I slump down on the floor.

I look around the dark room,thinking to myself.

How the hell did we get here? I laugh out loud remembering the chat with Austin. The one that changed my life.

I feel a bump on the door. Then something slides down.

"You know she left right... And I brought you a piece of cake!"

I laugh again. Only Austin can make me feel better... And the kids...

OH MY GOD THE KI- "The babies are in the nursery. My mom put them in there after she noticed the tension between you and your mother..."

Austin! Let me get a thought in before you come save the day! I open the door, and he's really holding a piece of cake.

"You did not!"

"Yes I did." He gives me a peck on the cheek as he walks into the room and sits next to me on the floor. "Because I love you." He slides the piece over to me.

I happily take a bite of cake, and Austin sits there watching me eat like a three year-old. "What?" "Nothing... We just forgot to name our baby. Well babies for that matter..."

I stop eating and look up at him. "Oh. My. God. You're totally right!" I slap myself in the face.

How many more problems are gonna come our way today?

"Well! Let's go name them idiot! We're not gonna call our babies no name number one and two are we?" Austin teases. "Ugh. Fine. But before we do..."

I pull Austin by his tie into an amazing, much needed kiss, and he is happy to accept. After about two minutes of kissing, we pull away from each other.

Austoin straightens his tie. "Well, I guess that helped us get rid of stress." He says playfully. I brush my hair over my shoulder. "Yes it was." I agree.

We make our way down to the nurser, hand in hand, talking about baby names. When we reach the door, I freeze and scream.

Ms.Mahone is on the floor, knocked out, but still breathing. Sirens go off in my head and I run to the door. When I open it, all of my nightmares come true.

Mason is standing in the middle if the room, holding my baby boy. I'm about to call Austin's name, I choke on my words when Mason holds his fingers up to his lips.

" Welcome back! We don't want to wake the babies now do we?"

He's holing a knife in his other hand. My heart stops.
