MADISON'S P.O.V. 3 weeks later
"Ohhhh!!! That's cold! That's really cold!" I squeal. I can't help it any more!!!
Austin is laughing, and then he turns to look at the screen. "There it is!" The doctor exclaims. I stop laughing with Austin and turn to look at the screen. "What is it?" I ask.
The doctor stares at the screen for a long time and then announced, "It's a boy!" I smile, but Austin looks very disappointed.
"So you really did want it to be a girl!" He blushes and kicks his feet backward and forward.
The doctor chuckles at our behavior. "First time parents." He mumbles
The doctor turns around and look at the monitor. The smile quickly fades off of his face. I strain my neck to look at the screen."Is there something wrong doctor?" I ask. He looks back at me. "Nothing's wrong,so when are you folks going to come back to visit?" The doctor pastes a smile on his face.
"Doctor, something is definitely wrong. If everything was alright, you would have said so. But you didn't ,so something is wrong." Austin says.
"No I'm being honest folks, nothing is wrong. But you do have a pleasant surprisecoming your way."
The doctor calls the nurse to bring me some paper towels to wipe off the blue paste.
I have to hug Austin close. Something might be wrong with our baby...
The thought of it makes me want to cry,but I hold back my tears.AUSTIN'S P.O.V.
We get into the car and drive home. I look over at her. She's staring out of the window and she's rubbing her stomach. Oh no. She won't stop thinking about it...
"Austin."
I look over at her again and smile. "What's up Maddie, and mini me?"
That at least brings a smile to her face. She leans over and kisses me on the cheek."Nothing. I just can't wait to get home and tell your mom! She'll be so excited!" I smile at her. She really does glow when she's happy. I love it. I love her. I love what's inside of her. Even if we can't see it yet. When we pull up to the driveway of the house, I see a car.
"Maddie, were you expecting someone?" I turn my head and look at her. Her face is ghostly pale and her eyes are wide and shocked. She's grasping the sides of the seat like there's a life vest on it.
A guy steps out of the car and walks up to us. Maddie and I step out of the car together, and she's hiding behind me, holding on to my hand.
The dude steps up to me. "Is Madison Scott here?" I nod my head yes, not able to say anything.
"Good because I'm her ex-boyfriend, and I came to take back what belonged to me."
Dear God. The surprises just keep coming...
