Run Away

MADISON'S P.O.V.

"Mason, what are you doing here?" He shrugs his shoulders like it's obvious. "I just came to get a look at the babies that were supposed to be mine... We could have been so happy together Maddie... But you went along like the dumb bitch you are, and you met Austin. It's as simlple as that."

He turns and puts the baby boy, who we've decided to name Justin, in the crib. I let my breath out slowly, feeling so much better now thhat my baby is out of Mason's filthy hands.

But he walks to the other end of the crib, just to pick up my baby girl, who we've named Megan, and cradle her in his arms. Mason smiles when he looks at her face.

"She's gonna break a lot of hearts with this face, just her mommy." He looks up at me, staring me directly in the eye. I nod my head because my throat is too dry to say  anything.

He shakes his head, and his wavy brown curls wave at me. "I was afraid you were gonna say that.. So I've come to you with a deal." I swallow hard, and gain control of my voice again.

"What's the deal?" I ask, my thoughts are mainly focused on the kids. He sees my worrying and places the infant back into the crib.

He even starightens the babies blankets. He stands back up to full height and gives me a hard cold stare. "The deal is, you leave your kids and Austin, and run away with me," I break him off with a snort.

"Right! Like I'd ever agree to that! Those kids and Austin are my life, my everything! I'm not gonna let any threat you make keep me away from my family."

Pain washes over his features and he strides across the room, and grabs me my the shoulders to bring me up to his height. Our faces are only inches apart.

"You were mine once! And you will be mine again! Because if you don't run away with me, I promise you this! I'll make every single day of your life a living hell!" I smile inspite of the threat.

"And what are you going to do that would ruin the perfect happiness that I have with this family?"

I regret the words as soon as they come out of my mouth. He glare hardens even more and he lets my shoulders, strides across the room toward the crib.

"I'll start by destroying the things that brought your perfect happiness!" He lifts the knife over his head. "Stop Mason!!! Now!" Austin shouts from the doorway

Mason turns around, distacted by my hero, and I run to the crib and stand in front of it. "If you want to destroy the thing that caused her happiness,you have to kill me. I'm the one who started this mess."

Mason's smile is so wicked, I look away and focus on the babies. "Gladly!" He sneers. He walks arcoss the room with the knife held firmly in place, and dives for Austin to tackle him.

Austin easily side steps the attack, and comes rushing to my side in front of the crib. "Maddie are you hurt?!? Are the-" "We are fine... Prince Charming." I smile.

Mason cries out in rage and jealousy, and runs over to us. Austin is turned around looking at the babies, so he doesn't see that Mason is about to stab him.

This is one of those moments where you only have two choices. One of them is really brave yet stupid, and the other is smart, yet it might backfire.

So like the dumb bitch I am, I jump in front of Austin before the knife touches him.

Damn.. that hurt... Why is it so dark in her- My eyes close, and the last thing I see is Austin bent over me, while Mason is on the floor not moving.

I feel like something is pouring out of my body, and I have really sharp pain in my belly.

AUSTIN'S P.O.V.

So much for happy endings...
