Chapter 38 - Facetime

Anna's POV

"Uhmm...hi?" I say, confused.

"Hey..." Mads says, blushing. "I didn't know this was your room, I'm still a little lost"

"Oh that's okay, don't worry" I respond. This is awkward, what am I supposed to say? I barely know her. "So why are you up this late?"

"Couldn't sleep, kept thinking about some stuff" She sighs "Anyway, I'm sure you don't want to hear about my problems at 2AM. Do you wanna make some tiktoks?"

"Sure" I say, trying not to be rude.

She sits on my bed and records one, with me in the back lip syncing a song.

"This is great, hope people like us together" She says, looking into my eyes. What was that supposed to mean? Is she flirting?

"Yeah" I say and giggle, trying to make this a little less awkward.

"Well, I'm not gonna bother you anymore" She tells me as she gets up "Good night, see you tomorrow"

"See you" I say it back.

That was so weird. Didn't anyone mention that I had a girlfriend? I mean kind of a girlfriend, it's not official yet.

Speaking off, my phone buzzed and I see I'm getting a facetime call from Ella. I knew she was up because she always sleeps late, just like me.

"Hi" I say, smiling. After that, I notice Ella has a weird look on her face.

"Hi, are you alone?" She asks.

"What? Of course" I say showing her my empty bed.

"Oh" She says.

"What is it?" I ask, concerned.

"Nothing, nevermind" She sighs "Good night"

"Ella wait" I say "When can you go out again? I miss you"

"Tomorrow" I noticed she smiled after my question but tried to hide it.

"Ok so what time will I pick you up?" I ask.

"You don't have to pick me up, we're neighbours" She replies "Besides, I'm the one who drives, remember?"

"Yeah right" I joke "Ok, good night then , I.." Woah there. Did I almost just say that?

"What?" She asks.

"Nothing" I laugh, trying to hide what just happened. "Good night"

"Good night" She says and sends me a kiss, hanging up.

I almost said I loved her. On a fucking facetime call. I would never forgive myself if I did that.

I mean, I know she knows I love her and I know she loves me too. We just never said it out loud.

But I for sure know when it's gonna happen, and it's pretty soon.
